SPOOKY!
I came across a youtube video on sunday about 'WOMBLING' I thought get a life about those who do it, but then the penny dropped.
Most stores now have a clubcard loyalty scheme, you get points for your purchases giving money off items you later buy. These 'Womblers' go around Tesco, Asda etc carparks picking up discarded till receipts, on the bottom it is marked with how many points, usually 1 point for every £1 spent. Anyway it says you added the points to your card - or you could have earned say 50 points if you had a card.
Its the last one they are interested in, it means there are points going free to be collected! They take their own card and the till receipts to the help desk and have them added to their own card! They are doing nothing illegal, just claiming points somebody else decided to discard. The guy in the video was getting a 1000 points a week just by visiting Tesco car parks. Now that is some discount on future purchases!
