Below are a couple of photos taken at our club sailing day last Sunday. They show the size difference between my Nordkap, and fellow club member Brian B's scratch built Meili Lady, which is a BIG model. His models, which are all trawlers, perform as well as they look, and the level of detail is amazing, although much of it is not readily visible being below the deck. Brian, now retired, comes from a long line of professional trawler men, which operated mainly out of the east coast port of Brunswick Heads, but going as far afield as the Gulf of Carpentaria, chasing prawns. They also built some of their own boats, and Brian employs similar methods in the construction of his models as on the full size vessels.
