Maid of Scotland
« on: September 09, 2007, 08:01:50 pm »

Now that i am starting and getting the feeling that shes now my boat and not Martins and Bradders anymore, i start a new thread about it. Again many thanks to them!

We started today the repair, it will be a bit picture-heavy  ;)

Lets start with the damages and repairs...

The roof was broken and the Master lost his left arm. Never had any chance gluing that arm without removing the roof. Smartly Martin left the wire of the roof lamp long enough  ;)

The roof itself was glued and "epoxyid" back...

The funnel is not ready and the rudder needs now 24 hours to let the glue dry. But the chaintubes and the mainswitch are glued back allready. The rest of the repair follows...  8)

Willy........ BRILLIANT!  :o

.......... and Jan didn't have to wait another 10 years  :embarrassed:

All you need now to ballast the boat is all the lead off the local church!

Hello friends,

tomorrow we will execute a swimming-test of the buffer.... Pictures follow.

I trimmed (in the bathtub  )  the ship, however without further ballast as the 2 lead accumulators.... the trip-attempts will then show what still is possible in order to get a trip-picture of a badly laden buffer.... let's look once...

Shes very top-heavy, the whellhouse is very heavy. The main batteries are placed as low as possible, together they weight 5.6 Kg. If there is no wind she sails fine, but turning in some fresh winds...

I think we need some more weight down below.

Other problems: the esc gets to hot, needs to be replaced. And the Smoke-Generator needs a fan.

Shes to fast, engine with 3.000 rpm rather than the 5.500 now should be fine.
