Many fresh paras won’t get their wings due to cost cuts these days

I might be wrong but everytime I've flown from Brize I've seen some Shorts Skyvans sitting on the pans. When I asked about them the aircrew said that they were used for parachute training so perhaps they use those more than the Hercs these days. I was surprised that there were some flying examples of Skyvans considering how old they are!

When I was at Brize in 78 the runway was used by Concorde pilots for night landing touch and go all feckin night

You're braver than me! Even when I'm sitting in the Tonkas with the live Martin Bakers its a scary thought that the handle between my legs can throw me out of the aircraft and shorten my spine by an inch (if I was strapped in!). Its a good thing that we have chaps that are as barmy as you guys to do those missions.

My mate on the back row broke his back on the course by landing in a tangle with another chute so practically upside down. Three Scottish lads quit and returned to regiment probably to be dismissed or transferred. One of them refused and the others folded with him. Theres a huge failure rate before the para course just to earn the Beret. 144 on my cadre on day one. 27 passed P company  {-)

Phone Qi charger mount delivered by Prime already. Very pleased with this.

Only suitable vent on the Berlingo is by the quarter light.
My new one on Friday has electric mirrors so the manual adjuster won't be a problem

The vent

Clipped on

Pull into the truck fuel pumps and fill up with "draught adblu" from the pump as we call it - its cheaper depending on how much you use

I can’t find pump prices but hear it’s dearer than £1 per litre ?

I have 17 litre tank so easy enough to top up from the shed at home at under £1 delivered

I'll have a look for you next week for a price - by boss goes only lets us get a 10L can if its an emergency as I use about 50 - 60 litres a week.  Always out of the pump for us as he tells us its about 30% cheaper?

I've bought nothing this week so far, but I am going to Howes tomorrow, so that is likely to change.

My digital camera of 9 years, which has served me very well including a four month detachment to the Falkland Islands during the winter months, bit the dust yesterday. It survived the coldest winter tempertures I have ever experienced and it survived the movers at Brize Norton but the holiday to North Somerset last October caused a chunck of screen to fall away. No matter how I tried dust kept getting in to the gap behind the screen and when I turned it on yesterday the screen gave up!
So I decided to move on to the next generation of camera, a Digital SLR, a Canon EOS 4000 with a standard 24 to 55mm lense. It's not the most sophisticated DSLR, and it's in no way the best either, but I'm happy with this beginner'e entry into DSLR technology. I'm having fun learning the new functions and the manual focus to acheive different results. :-))

1 meter of high pressure fuel hose for the Jag. (The big spend will begin next week).

Also had my Nikkor 24-70 lens repaired and returned after it fell out of the back of the car. (Was hoping for a new one but the repair was cheaper :(()

I feel your pain, after doing my research for my new DSLR I have a new respect for modern lenses and the camera they attach to! Not cheap in the slightest!
