I get a constant rumbling noise in my car . I say constant but it seems to be coincide of having the wife in the passenger seat. Wonder if the dealer has a fix for it ?

A "rumble" sounds like a wheel bearing going out. Try and fine a quite road with a hill on it and roll the car down it out of gear, if you still hear the "rumble" then I would suspect that is the cause; if you have a diff i.e. rear wheel drive, then that moght be the problem as well. Have fun!

Hi yes I know. Perhaps that was the wrong phrase. It actually sounds like a cat purrring when I hit potholes. I've explained it often enough to the garages, it's just getting them to actually check it!  Sadly I have no access to ramps any more and fed up of DIY fixes lying on my back in the rain.  It's actually a great car, no intentions of changing it for years. I don't believe it has half the carbon footprint of a new car these days.  Anyhow I'm just grumbling and cluttering the thread.

Well not purchased, but added to my limited tool inventory, a 1996 Ryobi SC160 16" scroll saw.
It has been sitting for several years and needed a cleanup, the start capacitor had lost all its smoke, easily replaced and cleaned up I found someone had assembled the crank arrangement without a spacer to align the link. It comes with pin-less chucks so I am on a steep learning curve as to what blade for what wood/job.

Try 2 fpp3 masks with loft insulation between them to reduce the noise from the passenger, obviously get the biggest possible to keep the same air flow through the layers and a pair of ear plugs or cotton wool (claim you have a left ear infection)  :-)) ok2 %) {-) {-)

After seeing Geoff Dixon’s radio set for his Invincible especially the firing system I decided to buy the same set-

A Hotpoint induction hob from Homespares £54 less than Curry's  :-)
Our NEFF induction is now way behind todays offerings and the wife has always complained about it.

Went to the Deans Marine's Open Day today, and an excellent do it was too.

Got two new universal couplings for my RAF H&D launch, to replace the troublesome flexi-joints that came with it. Also two larger rudders to hopefully improve its turning circle, and some crew members as well, as it looks a bit empty otherwise.

The new joints and the rudders are installed now and I'll test it all tomorrow with luck.

A permanently installed generator.  With the dangers of power failures from our extreme hot weather and from utilities unable to keep up during a hard freeze it became necessary.  <*<

I bought a stationary engine a week or three ago and in that time I’ve realised that like any other hobby it’s a money pit  %%
Anyway I’m enjoying the restoration and today I’ve learned that my purchase will be 70 yrs old in the last week of October
Also learned that my engine was produced in the old Lagonda factory in Staines. At that time 1951 using my engine number we have gleaned that 9,500 engines were produced in eight weeks or approx 240 per day  %%

My developing colour scheme may seem familiar  {-)

Could that give you 48 linear meters of Cedar to rip down into seasoned planks for a plank on frame open boat?  O0 ...... Derek
