A 2 channel radio is all you needed for the DF.
What was the original radio?

A Planet 2+2 I bought for my scale boats, but it wasn't giving me enough throw on the winch, and I had no means of adjusting it. Got the new radio set to give me the 115mm travel with end points set to 110%

I've come from an aeromodelling background, where computer radios have been the norm for quite a few years now, but they never used to be anything like as cheap as the FlySky!

I'm not sure of the best way to store them. I always have a blocked nozzle with dried glue  {:-{

in the past used thinners after removing the needle - as it dries reasonably close to the end the other end is sometimes still wet and can be cleaned out - but not always.

I’ve used this a number of times today and each time stood the bottle upside down with success  :-))

Moving on
I bought these tiny brass split pins
Not many left! Price seemed good ?
I believe some modellers use similar for fixing brass grab rails to life boats etc

I bought some side cutters and a pair of needle nose pliers for work. The former we break regularly when clipping parts off of pewter sprues and the latter to augment an old pair that I have modified beyond where they help form rings.

Also, I bought two new needle files of rougher cut, a bottle of CA and a wearable magnifier to reduce strain on my eyes as I lose focus after a few hours at work even with lunch and a tea break in between.

For the Armoured Cruiser, I will be buying lots of goodies  :-) Mr Haynes, SLEC and Mtroniks will get a call and probably 'Deans'.

I have many assorted files but they are now all suffering from solder filling the cut. I’m considering putting a blow torch on each one whilst using a file cleaning brush. Any one got a better idea?

Hi Andy, don't heat the file too much, it will lose it's temper and go blunt very quickly. A steel wire brush is the best I've found. John

I have one John but it’s no use in the very fine files unfortunately

I set to with an old compass point and scrape the kerfs out. Once you get into a routine it gets quite quick! A tip for filing soft metals is to rub the teeth with talc before filing as this seems to reduce/prevent the kerfs from gumming up.

Good tips thanks Ian

A lot of my files are too fine for a compass point and may be beyond recovery

I'd been looking for a new multi charger due to my SkyRC one failing.
This has some good reviews and youtube vids so I thought it worth a punt.
Under £45 ebay or £65 ish Amazon

Very much dreading the comfortmatic clutch and dual mass flywheel with a starting price of £1200  {:-{  only 55K on the van but these clutches have a reputation for failing in very much less mileage. We want to go to Spain later this year and I feel it may be best to bite the bullet and do it first

Is it a Ducato?
The mind boggles how manufacturers of
Rv's that will obviously do high mileages
fit a known weak link.
It's not like you've bought a 15 grand runabout.  >>:-(

Yes Ned but Fiat use the Iveco engine for the 3.0 and 2.3 litre. It's a 2008 left hand drive.
Probably have it done over at CamperUK Lincoln way

My modelling purchases this week have been limited to a set of light wind sails and rig for the DF 65 I bought a week or so earlier. I took it out in fairly calm conditions last week for its (and my) first sail and it was suggested that an A+ rig would be a wise purchase.

I've got something similar to this - I found that the programming takes a bit of sorting out but once done they are great bits of kit.  This week I've bit the bullet and ordered a thickness sander as my woodworking is getting better and its a bit of kit to help me through retirement in 15 years time  {-)
