Nick. I would love a MkIII Cortina but I don't enjoy the thought of all the welding or the high prices for restored examples!

I ordered a couple of magazines from Modelarstwo Okretowe this week.

Ordered a set of Tyne Lifeboat mouldings from Mountfleet. Something else to add to the "one day I'll build it" list

You’ve just reminded to do so also!
PS there was a lovely Cortina Mk 3 GT on show- beautiful condition- got loads of inspiration for the car, and I’ve bought a hull from Christian of MTB hulls for the next model boats project. Watch this space. :-))

Not bought any yet but exploring  :-)
Many of our overseas buddies are building with copper clad circuit board and I must say it looks superb especially when brass work is added.
I’m not very experienced with styrene and prefer plywood but this seems to have many advantages over ply

Update
I've gleaned that there are three main types of board
The cheapest is as linked above, a single sided SRPB.
Then comes same but on epoxy resin glass board
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RVFM-Copper-Clad-Single-Sided-FR4-Fibre-Glass-Board-203-x-305mm/131468872216?_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140109134348%26meid%3Dded3f059fbfd4df5bd905c69a4bf55df%26pid%3D100042%26%26itm%3D131468872216&_trksid=p5713.c100042.m2062

Then there are clad both sides boards, not sure that would be advantageous

I imagine a number of ways to join these together from CA to epoxy resin.
The painted finish is of course as good as steel with no grain to fill.

Also visited the NEC Car Restoration show on Saturday. Not quite as good as the one held later in the year, due there not being so many traders but, still lots of interesting vehicles to see and people to talk to.

Lots of tools bought,  so a rather fraught journey back on the train with my bags. Travelled first class, of course, the cost was less than half that of driving and parking; grub was reasonable as well.

Don't bother with copper coated, look for G10 epoxy laminate board, gives the smooth finish you are looking for.

Looks OK Andy but you should be able to find a UK supplier instead of China. You can also probably find it in other colours, white would be better if you are going to be painting it.

A great buy GH,
Throw in the car and throw in the lake. Sailed my 3 Yr old DF on Sunday in Cleethorpes in a wind gusting to 45Kmh no problem.

I used to sail a Marblehead years ago but recently having rejoined Grantham Model Boat Club after a long lay-off I acquired a Joysway Caribbean plastic RTS ( only 14” long but not a bad sailer) for my grandson only he’s not interested ( football fanatic...dammit!) but after a few pleasant afternoons on my own pootling about it has got me back into rag and stick boating.. and the Grantham boat lake is not that big so 65cm is about the right size.

I had a Marblehead and loved it, but the chore of having to rig it at the lake in a NE blow got to me.
The DF will sit upright behind the drivers seat ready
to sail. The DF 95 is also a darn fine sailer.

When to Chelmsford today, found 'Olde Sweet shop'.

I haven't tasted Spanish Gold for over 40 years! .... Funny I always remember it as 'Pirates Tobacco'!!!

Get a set of sails from Tim Long at Soch Sails. Your DF will be faster than the stock sails.

Best get some bouys sorted then Gordon....
Bought it from eBay, trader by the name of 'powpamme' from Hertfordshire, it’s a version 6but no radio as I’ve a few spare sets - although the latest version comes with a normal Tx unlike the earlier Joysway boats - and it’s in white unlike your fancy pattern one Gordon!

Should have been down today, I had a pleasant 1/2 hour sailing the tiny Caribbean when it wasn’t being used by other wannabe sailors, there won’t be many get to use my new one.

I’m unlikely to ever attend RG65 class races anywhere else in the country, would it really be worth it?

I was given to understand that the buoy situation was 'in hand' - I can wait!

It'll be interesting to compare your v6 with my v4 - I might be there Sunday morning.
