Thank you Ray
I saw something similar in Leeds model shop but it went on your ears like glasses which is no good if you wear glasses too.

Hi Taranis, They are easy to wear with glasses.  There are 2 slots for taking the lenses and you can use both slots with 2 lots of lenses to magnify real up close, there is a table of combinations with the set.  You get 5 lenses in a box and I find the 1.5 times works well for me.

The sliding and tiltng LED light has a push down catch to release it from the headset so that you can put in 3 AAA batteries, they seem to last for ever.

The notes say to put a lens in corner first and then click it down, going straight in does not work.

I am working on an adjustable band to go over the top of my head which hopefully will relieve the tightness of the adjustable screw at the back.  Plus lining the inside of the headband with something soft, I have used old mouse mat and that works.

I just do not know how they do it for the money!
regards

Roy

Seem to stock a good selection without breaking the bank https://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/products/accessories/diorama-supplies/maquett-plastic-stryene

Thanks for that,  some useful stuff there for the future.

Purchasewise, after the photographic equipment I've been buying recently I've bought a nice backpack to carry it in. Thought I'd better get as many of the more expensive things bought before I get my last salary payment and my wife starts saying that you can't afford that now that you're retired!

I cannot believe my fortune. Last weekend I won these three ebay items from the same seller.
These files were listed as top quality not the usual cheap files.
So I figured I'd allow myself up to £1 per file on my bidding as a gamble incase they were crap.
Had he listed the name of these files he would have got so much more money but he didn't. :-)

They just arrived and I can see they are Swiss "Glardon Vallorbe"
a search has revealed these can be as much as £15 each.  There are 50 in total and delivered for the lot I paid £33

My van's aircon has not been used for a good four years since it became ineffective. This week I'm going to try a DIY fix.

I'll let you know how I get on

At the weekend I won 23 square files from same seller for £23 delivered. I may sell some of these as a set of 4 for £20 on ebay  O0

I've lost the tube of black everbuild stixall that I won at Kirkless open day so will have to visit my ironmonger across the road George Spence & sons in the morning. Most polyurethane based adhesives benefit from a bit of thickness for best effect. The holes here will accommodate all the squeeze out as I clamp the fenders in place. Also helps reduce weight.

Flysky i6 ... I went to the local model shop today (I do, but don't like, online purchasing) and there, calling out to me, was this TX. Pre-owned, but seemingly never used. Not a mark on it.

£20.

Bought lots of stuff but I was taken aback by the price of Joysway bellows at Leeds Model Shop  >:-o
I use these for my Shannon lifeboat 6 required
Charging £4.99 over the counter for a pack of two and IMHO that’s taking the mickey

Only £5.75 including postage for four on eBay
These must cost about a penny each to mass produce in China

Stuff that -had to don WaH and CSE harnesses often enough in the past, not particularly happy up a mast or inside a tank these days.  Least I was being paid to do it at the time.  You can keep that malarkey LoL.  Good luck with it though!  I'd be more worried if it was a good rope than the price, but our local GO Outdoors always seems deleriously expensive though (>2x the price for the same thing elsewhere sometimes).

Bit the bullet and got a 3-D printer this week!

Have a problem I think.  Printing consistently aborts 20mins into a small 1h print, save one time where it completed absolutely OK.  Seems it might be a software problem according to lots and lots of googling.  Some further head scratching required.  It printed quite nicely when it did finish.

It is top quality rope and any google search won’t find that sale price
However I have a great respect for heights and feel much safer roped and indoors just for the fitness aspect.
In my twenties I jumped often from 800ft heavily laden with kit, more so than the bigger guys due to SWL of chutes . I absolutely hated it  {-)
Recent trip to London we visited level 72 of the Shard which is coincidentally the same height of peace time deployment out the door
