Aggggggh! floor to ceiling glass walls.
In the words of Gollum "we hates them, we hates them"
I once had to visit someone on one of the upper floors of an office in Melbourne that had them.   I got halfway to the edge and had to send someone else to ask the person I was visiting to come to the lift lobby in the middle of the building.

I've had a few of these motors but admittedley paid a cpl. of quid more for each.  Better to give the money to keep the local model shop open IMO.

My local model shop would simply not stock such an item

Cracking service from Steve Webb Models ltd (Servoshop) this week.

I ordered five servos a couple of days ago, and here they are. Well-packaged, all fine!  :-))

Totally unrelated to modelling but a small FLIR infrared camera for my collection of tools for work.  Last used one over a decade ago (hired), this one fits in a pocket and whilst not cheap, bearable for my own company expenses, thanks to modern technology no need to spend 4 or 5 figures for what I'll be using it for! Can't wait to pick it up on Sunday night (had to get it delivered to a family member).

(Also bought a few modelling bits nowhere near as interesting)

....same here.  Pretty much 1 shop within a 4h driving radius. I pick things up when I see them or mail order from a high street shop rather than import on net.  Local to someone! LoL

Hi all, sort of modelling!  When occupied in my shed I listen to audio books, helps with the tinnitus.  These come from the public library, so far no problem.  But they are going over to MP3 CDs you get 9+ hours on one disc but not many CD players will play them and in my house only my Sony Walkman.

I at last found a 'boombox that did play MP3 CDs which is another Sony, a CFD S70.  i chased it pricewise down from £75 to £55 and so I bought one today.  Seems to work fine a little tinny but otherwise very good.  That is my judgement but I have 2 hearing aids so not reliable.
regards

Tinnitus? Me too. Too many years listening to Motorhead and (at work) wearing headphones during my 20s and 30s.

Maybe a cheapy subwoofer would do you for more bass? There are plenty out there!

The Aldi bandsaw.

It's identical to the Scheppach HBS20 bandsaw as sold by Screwfix, only it's £30 cheaper, and comes with a three-year 'it's fallen to bits' Aldi warranty.

Setting up was 'interesting' - the instructions could be written much better - but it's straightforward.

I suspect I won't be buying thin wood planking material ever again. :-))

I've always liked the Nordkap Trawler and just got one for £150 because the box is damaged. Another kit on the shelf  :embarrassed:

This week I bought a Startrite 403 bandsaw, 3 TB 16 Pillar Drills and an X 380 1000W Laser Cutter with a 900x600 bed size.  I just wish that I could take them home with me.

Didn't actually buy it today but was delivered today. Nicely made actually and a lot cheaper than if bought here - £15.95 delivered, from China of course.  %)

So very true and what the boss don't know won't hurt him.
