I’ve bought some new carpet for my classic car restoration (don’t need it yet but helps later on in the rebuild). Beautifully made and in maroon to match the leather seats I bought several months back.
Now I just need to get on with the welding! ;)

A pallet collar and a tarpaulin = cheap and easy test tank for modelboats

Hi all I purchased on line 5 lengths (300mm) of 1.5mm diam brass tube.  It was a good price at £6 delivered from Spain.  It arrived this morning in a jiffy bag!

I opened it with trepidation and found all lengths perfectly straight, so congrats to the Postal services for a good journey despite there being no admonitions not to bend the package.
Regards,
Roy

Did your Jets arrive yet?

These landed at Gatwick by DHL yesterday. I'm expecting an invoice from customs any day now

Hi All
Double hit today my bits arrived for my tug plus a few extras from Float A Boat,
Also my printer refills to top up my cartridge system with three extras because I was close to empty on them.
The cartridge system costs about the same as a replacement set of cartridges, but cartridges are full and the system holds 100ml per colour.
That for my printer is another five sets of cartridges !!!
Saving about $750 !!!!!

Yes the wife( aka HANDBRAKE) knows what I got, but not the price(especially the boat bits).

Victor at OceanWorks has now completed the 20mm nozzle and buckets. Currently being tested and sending me next week
I will fit these in MBD Shannon hull

I’m going to give input to Victor to produce trim tabs and intake grills too

I bought some of these plug phones. Not this week but a while back and I have been using them a lot lately.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/PlugFones-Guardian-Plugs-Built-Headphones/dp/B075T5YDGM/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?crid=1A2IYJ08T6LFB&keywords=plugphones+guardian&qid=1563796110&s=gateway&sprefix=plugphones%2Caps%2C545&sr=8-1-fkmr0
This is the Guardian model, that allows you to plug into your mobile phone and take calls too. There are cheaper models that just act as earphones.

I have seen ear defenders/phones, but they are too hot and sweaty for me to wear.
These ear plugs do work really well on their own, and you can listen to music at non ear damaging levels when operating machines.
I have been using them a lot when doing a lot of tedious sanding. Not only do I have the noise of the sander, but also the dust extractor, which is inside the workshop (no room outside). Now I can listen to music and the time goes by much more pleasurably.

My resolve and willpower have been tested this month, and once again found wanting. In addition to the Milford Star kit I bought a couple of weeks ago (post 390 on this thread) and buying a second hand Boulogne Etaples & being given the Billing's Kadet I built with my daughter 25 years ago to fix up (post 395), I again dropped into Howes just to say hello and look around, and left with a Jotika/Aerokits Sea Queen. I'd really wanted one back in the 70s, but couldn't afford the engine and radio required, so never achieved my ambition. I spent the afternoon since getting back from the shop looking at chunky brushless motors on line.

Almost forgot, I bought a 'part-built' Norstar Waverider on eBay yesterday as well, so that's five this month! I am rapidly running out of space.
