We decided to go to IKEA specifically today expecting it to be very quiet  (Monday) BIG MISTAKE half term holiday in LEEDS absolutely rammed  %%
Anyway it was to get this island table for my craft room. The top is 580x500 and very stable, could mount a bandsaw or a vice no problem.
It just gives me more options and it's so easy to move on the two wheels.

£40 bargain

I bought two things this week that have arrived,

1. A KiWiBiRD SD card reader, as an annoying micro 64 GB SDisc has been locked by the old dashcam and wont delete the X2 program on it, it keeps saying the card has an error and wont record or even allow deleting of the files, this PC is not set up with a SD card reader so had to buy one for the future.

2. a bench vice 100mm, pictures below.

Have been everywhere in pretty much 200miles trying to buy a Dremel drill press. Mail order no good as I only get random periods at home. Everywhere that used to have them, none now.  Never had cash before, now I do and can't buy one for love nor money!

I just had some small bits from CMB but watch-out, they're increasingly taking orders for out of stock items and not saying until you have to ask.  Boo.

Today I bought a plastic kit off E-Bay. Damned if I can remember the last time I bought a plastic kit from anywhere, but it was likely on my way back from singing in the choir at St Giles' church in West Bridgford, Nottingham circa 1961. I was paid the princely sum of 2s 6d, which covered the price of an Airfix Series 1 kit and a tube of glue from Doughty's newsagents on the cycle-ride home.
Happy daze.

It's complicated, I'm split between 3 adresses, nobody much at either.   I used to have an Amazon Account until I realised It wasnt amazon (we're going back 10 yrs plus) -so I go to the seller direct ever since.  Nevermind, I am someone who needs to twiddle with knobs and dials before buying.  My local store sells Proxxon but not the mill you bought which i'm hankering for, but without a display model to try, its a no for me.

It is radio related but not RC . 50/500MHz frequency counter and RF meter , in kit form.  It came from India . DHL tracked no problem at all, only £3:04 import duty ,lots of soldering.

I just bought another Hilti battery drill. I've been using one a long time as the speed control and weight are so controllable for hand drilling brass.
I came across it by chance so I checked the Hilti UK website to find it would be £234. It's a new model replacing previous lightweight.

I paid £100.99 delivered . The two 4.0amp batteries would cost £104 alone from HiltiUK

The new and old

They say that they call it A over T to stand for "aroma's over Tongham , but we know what it really stands (?) for.

Apart from MG parts and adding to my Tornado collection I have bought some Action parts from Component Shop for my ferry from Carl, a foghorn with speaker and switch unit.
I also received a fantastic propeller from Prop Shop for my 1/72 HMS Warrior 1860 model which needed a more scale prop, the one fitted on the previously owned model had a four bladed prop but I asked Simon to make me a 1/72 version that would work effectively- so its not 100% accurate but its more correct than the old prop.

My wife managed to buy a packet of double length rolls last Friday.   Our major supermarkets are limiting customers to 1 or 2 packets at a time.  <*<

The wife showed me a posting on one of the social media platforms

"the great toilet roll famine of 2020 was the result of A@@@holes"

I got a Steak bake from Gregg's and thought the bag has the consistency of a two sheet version of IZAL paper, I might have to use it in an emergency.

I am about to print a notice for the bathroom where the loo roll is hung, it will read

Please use sparingly, use this notice only in emergencies.

I was going to put BUM BUM afterwards (lavi brush), but that's a bad pun - OH i did sorry
