I have ordered from Leeds Model Shop three times recently. Good prices and very prompt delivery.  :-))

They do not profiteer, they have a fixed rate mark up on trade that works and keeps them pretty on the ball with keenest prices.
I'm very lucky to be local

Cornwall too may as well be around the corner and considerably cheaper than the internet in general for kits like Billings etc

Anyway what did I buy on Monday? Z poxy finishing resin 12 oz arrived today  :-))  Wednesday

I have also bit the bullet and ordered some more Permagrit tools from SLEC. Yes, pricy but so what in these times? We are unlikely to be going on holiday.

For me:

8 rolls of filament for 3d printing a hull I found on internet
Amera huntsman moulding kit (cheap kit but will detail well, looked to buy one for ages!)
A second mini Loyal tender GRP from Mountfleet I will freelance on this time whenever I take to doing it
Found a body shop that was open so all 4 rusty wheel arches getting sorted on the Merc before it gets too late! Get it back tomorrow so that counts as a once a week run to keep it moving. I was trying to get them sorted for 3 months so far

....I had a bit of spare cash accumulated so apart from the car, treating myself now. Might regret it in a month!

Actually we don't cruise very often but we did have two trips to Greece booked, one has been cancelled, the other almost certain to be. It's a shame as we love driving around the country and visiting the archaeological sites but on the plus side we have covered most areas of the country over the last few years. We did it while we could - who knew!

Was thinking this might be useful for fairing up frames which I have a lot to do very soon. Anyone had experience of it  ?

For "fairing" frames you should really use something "bow shaped". A long bit of curved wood with paper stretched between or on the back-side for concave parts. Sorry, that's a bit of a simplication. I like what you posted but apart from shape -is that much different from a sanding block for free or about a pound'odd?

I saw the listing so no saying the obvious (apart from the shape of it!).

You guys are quick! ok2

Yes it’s a QE2 in what I believe was said to be 1/200 scale. When I worked out how big the real vessel I was very impressed- I knew she was big but I never really took much interest until recently. The box turned up yesterday and it’s taller than my mum! Well she she is only 4ft 8in so she was slightly miffed at the size of it!
It was surprisingly cheap for the hull so I’m not expecting great things in the flesh so to say but I did wonder if anyone knows where I could find some drawings for the QE2?
Many thanks

The shape of the first 1/3rd of the moulding is instantly recognisable!  That up-turn of the side shell before the start of the superstructure even before I saw the details of the listing. Sorry, I would be same as you trying Google for plans. Must be out there!

(My mum is about 4'8" in heels also! LoL)

Hi RST

Completely agree, I’m currently googling trying to find something helpful.
I take it your Mum is like mine that even though she is so short she will still clip your ear when you need it! Lol
My mum blames me for loosing two inches in height -when she was 24 she said she was 4ft 10 but after she had me she claims she dropped to 4ft 8!

LoL, my mum hasn't been able to reach that high since I was about 15 and I'm not particularly tall.  Back of a wooden spoon hurts more though -even on more fatty lower parts of the body!

{-)  They find ways to over come height- I’m only a foot taller but I still feel like a little boy when she looks at me and uses my full name!

My Mum, since year dot can't spit my name, Richard, out first time, I am well used to being called Roger (father), Jonathan (brother), Rod (uncle), Derrick, James, Robert or anyone random person spoken to in the same day (usually in sequence).  It's been an in-house joke for about 25 years now LoL.  Must be in my jeans, I call most people Dave now and explain to them I just can't remember names!

2 litres of milk.   Don't laugh but it was the first time I have been to the shops in nearly 2 months.   Our daughter and grand daughter have been shopping for us.  <*<

I ordered an MFA Como Minidrill last week for work. I needed a drill for making bleed holes in rubber moulds. I can keep it in the casting room rather than traipsing about the building to use the one in the studio. Well worth it for saving time.

I bought some fittings from Deans as well for M19

Other than that, not much. I was going to work up a list for Haynes fittings for a cruiser but still haven't completed the railings on the Destroyer so will be disciplined.

Few bits and pieces for a current build: lightweight cloth, rudder arms and servo attachments, P bracket, motor mounting screws and a set of pin vices. Still some stuff to order!
