Bought this, used it once, returned it.
Great original idea .....  but I got a terrible Chinese ripoff!

I tried buying this just as COVID struck and was refunded. They have only just re opened due to supplier difficulties.
Hopefully succeed this time

I bought 15 x 3.6metre lengths of tanalised tongue and groove. Earliest delivery date August 19th.

I'm not in a rush and Estate Sawmills based in Bradford are so much cheaper than regular outlets like B&Q plus it is real wood and still straight  {-)

Martin is coming up for his 20,000th. utterence!  I wonder what pearls he will cast among his (oops) followers?

The mind boggles even under his Darth Vader headgear and whimsical Hawaiin tailoring there beats the heart of a good person tragically being dragged to the dark side by forces only known to the 'Forum People'.
Perhaps us poor Minions for want of better expression can only look and wonder and follow.  If only we could know as well, could we prevent this?
I think it is time for my bed!
Good night all

Due to increasing problems with my Planet transmitters and increasingly short supply of receivers for them I have finally invested in Flysky FS-i6S plus four additional FS-iA6B receivers for them.

Going to start on a mass conversion programme

Ditto for me! I have one Planet TX for all of my boats so decided it was time to get a new set for my current build. I have ordered a Radiolink T8FB from Howes.

If anyone is interested I have a Radiolink T8FB plus four receivers for it.  Had problems converting things with it, so now onto FLYSKY

PS: Action BEC's seem almost always out of stock so converting to 5A (max 7.5A) Universal Battery Eliminator Circuit (UBEC) KNT from Component Shop

This week I have bought...
Aluminium and brass round bars for making my own motor couplings
10 pack of 3.9mm drill bits
probably need a couple of reamers yet

For stock and future builds while prices are still good.
2 x 400 motor mounts
2 x 2836  1120kv  brushless motors
2 x quicrun brushless ESC

0.5 litres of Letonkinois marine no.1 varnish

A set of size large adjustable mounts for model boat stand. I plan use these to make templates for more permanent display stands

I might have to buy some diesel as the car hasn't been fed since May

Not sure what I'll fit them in yet, maybe squeeze in the Maltby or if not I'll cut and shut my Orion Stevns Arctic hull

Stockpiling as I foresee troubles ahead next 2 years:

More re-usable face masks and some safety spectacles before my current prescription runs out:  My mask supplier still fits them with one way valves but there are 2 layers of fabric before the valve and a pocket for a fiter if desired also so I see no reason not to buy a few more despite the advice.

Sarik hobbies:
  • HDML hull I intend to reelance convert to a fireboat -similar to Southampton firebaoat 39 or something
  • Vic Smeed cormorant -small and more fitting with my patience, another freelance project
  • Plaudit -looked at it for a long timme, bit the bullet
...About £100 for all three, wanted "Island Scene" also as I think it will fit a conversion to MV Lochmor quite nicely, but there's no mention of that hull on website now!?

Few bits and more 2.9Ah AA batteries from component shop.

...been trying to find a "mini" tap and die set for a few weeks as mine is M3+.  Should have picked one up when Maplins existed (although they re-appeared on-line now), I'll find a cheap set elsewhere.  On-line is last resort but needs be if not available anywhere locally.

Further looking at the stand suggests there are just 2 different parts, would make an ideal laser cut kit 8 supports and 4 flat bits and some nuts and bolts.

They are made by H A Kits

https://hakits.co.uk/?page_id=372

I have the smaller ones. They do come as flat pack as you suggest Roy.

I need a small size tap & die set too. If you source one can you let us know. I've only been able to source individual items. Online is good for me.
