Having took a long time to file out the recess for the prop shaft in the doublers using fine round Permagrit files I ordered some coarse ones yesterday.

And today I dropped by Lidl, having been given a heads up on their digital angle gauges. Also bought some Forstner bits.

Forgot I'd bought these until I just received a delivery notice. Four of for £18.01 delivered.
I wasted a new battery last week by leaving it switched on accidentally, now I know what they mean by puffed  {-)

Received a Hilda(Dremel) mini drill(spare brushes) from Banggood with a 97 bits kit, flex lead, router guide, front handle and grinder guard.
Best thing all the Dremel stuff fits!!!!
Still waiting for the bench fitting which holds the drill up whilst using drill with flex lead.
Ordered a 90 degree bend unit, saw blades, drills, router bits, etc.
Easter will be like Christmas !!!!

Also received a replacement motor for the new one that smoke after a minute run.
The second one has a bell sound on start and stopping !!!

I just bought this airbrush kit. I still have to learn how to use it  O0 .
Many people recommended this and at £75 a bargain

Just arrived by Yodel. Both brittle plastic boxes for the airbrushes were broken so negotiated a £10 refund. Result only £65 slivs  :-)

Nice piece of kit, thanks to those who recommended it. Whisper quiet when running too

Hi all this week I bought a Kindle paperwhite reader, but not with real money!  I used accumulated Airmiles from Qantas which I translated into gift vouchers (digital) from Myers (Australia).  Seemed the best value for money deal as the Qantas shop contents was not encouraging and delivery was only to Oz!
The cover came from Birmingham sent to home address in UK and they will be united in a week's time.
My son and I have similar tastes in books so I share his account and have 30 odd books to read.
regards Roy

T33CNO.

Very cheap at less than £100 so fair enough.  I recognise the kit and give some experience myself with the Chineese stuff.  Apologies if you already know it...

  • Do NOT spray unless you have extraxtion / forced ventillation -do NOT spray an airbrush without wearing a half face respirator with a rubber seal.  Dust masks are not suitable, buy a £20 3M or equivalent one, it will last a good while and yu need one with a CE mark -ARCO or the likes is a good source.  Airbrushes atomise particles which are an awful lot more harmful and invisible particles which hang around in the air than the likes of any rattle can will generate
  • Have you got a moisture trap?  They cost as little as a fiver -amazing how much water they collect even over 5 mins spraying!  My little in-line one will spit out a drop or so every few mins of spraying, even in dry conditions
  • Does your compressor tank have a condensate bleed point?  Just be aware there's been a spate of folk on other forums finding their cheap Chinese compressor tanks are rotten through after not much use, they never realised they would collect water or need draining and, well, you know compressors this price aren't made of top notch stuff so the tank may corrode quicly.  They may be CE marked but that may not mean the PED.  If it has a port, make sure you drain any water regularly.
...whats the nozzle size on the brushes? The Chinese stuff I started out with would regularly clog and it got frustrating after a while. Even as a beginner they weren't much use consistently.  From memory they're around the 0.2mm size.  I changed to a brush Neo from Iwata and what a difference!  Think it's 0.3mm? Night and Day difference on the same small compressor and totally rstored my faith in airbrushing.  Sorry I can't really put the change of brush it into words, you'll jut have to read the many other folk who found the same as me.

Also:  With a brush its advisable to have a "run through pot". They cost about £30 but have a look at the pics of them,  I made mine from an empty coffee tin can, a small funnel (£1.00), a wad of cooker hood filter media etc. as a vent.   With a big triangular base of scrap whatever hot melt glued to the bottom of the can it won't ever tip over.  That has made brush cleaning and changing between colours SO much easier!

Cheers,

Riich

Not this week but I received this little set of mouldings which I hope I can put together...

http://www.amera.co.uk/product_images/w102_1.jpg

I ordered a few fittings for it roughly 1:60 -1:70 and a Viper mini ESC from Cornwall Model boats and the order turned up less than 24h later.  Not bad and alesson for averone else claiming the highlands and isles is more cost and longer to ship!!!!  I made a mistake and am still waiting for a 3" custom propshaft from someone on Ebay after 2 weeks ....still waiting.  Nonsense.

Steerable kort turned up today from MMB but a bit bigger than expected.  Hmm some re-thinking requred on such a small model.

I'd attach pics but still not found a suitable image hosting site I am happy with since demise of photobucket.
