Box arrived yesterday -was hoping to get it rigged today but that may not happen....not there Sunday either, it's Mother's Day and although mine has passed I'm married to one that still has hers...so I'll be in derbyshire unfortunately.
If you're still working there's always the option of evening sailing as the nights are drawing out..

I think there are a few mechanical differences, plus a huge cosmetic difference ( mine is white - all white, it may need some decoration)  but it'll be mostly set-ups that will determine the difference in performance.

Just sent you a private message Gordon.

So I always knew I would struggle working in Paris compared to being site based.  But l bought a small thermometer which confirmed it's been hitting almost 30deg at my desk for some weeks now, and why I am almost passed out on the floor, shallow breathing, sweat pouring off me.  It has not helped eating something I know which upset me for a week then going for Hep A and Yellow fever jabs, the side-effects frankly floored me.  My new 4" USB fan however (second attempt because another Chinese ebay supplier conned me) has therfore created somewhat of interest in the office when I turn it ON at about 24 degrees when I first get to my desk in the morning.  My colleagues appear to start taking their jumpers and scarfs off however only when it's closer to 26-27 in the office and all ventillation or A/C in my particular corner switched-off!  Luckily I ordered 2 fans.  They will both be employed soon as long as we can get past the lack of air issue as everyone else in the building seems to be OK with air-con running apart from my particular corner.

I'd like to recommend this stuff. Great for all things sticky and found it is fantastic at removing solder paste too.

hi, all.
I just got this off eBay as a project on a whim and just wondered if any of the wise sages on here could provide some information on it.
It looks to be plastic , manufactured but with home grown internal. If you know what I mean.
I just thought it would give me something to play around with, add some wood and paint etc.

That's an Aquacraft Atlantic Tug. Fibreglass hull and plastic superstructure I believe. Tough little model :-))

Last week. Studio 2 Models 60 inch Skydiver. Lots of work for the autumn, but should be worth it. I hope to make it a fully diving model, nothing like a challenge eh?! ( 1/16 scale Heng Long Sherman for scale! )

A selection of mesh and grating for future tug building. Not sold locally so ordered from scale model shop for appraisal. I'm sure they'll all be of use at some time

The Maquett styrene profiles look interesting and  good price. I need channel sections for the stanchions supporting th boat deck of my liner model and they look like the might fit the bill. There are some other sections which look like they might come in useful too.

Eldest daughter gave me a very belated birthday present of a £30 Amazon voucher.
I bought these.
On the face of it they look expensive at £5.95 delivery but the delivery is the same on 5 packs. So I paid £33.50 delivered from Germany for 30 clamps, tad over £1 each.

I've just bought 1mm 2mm & 3mm masking tape to help me mask off my deck before applying texture coating. I want to be as detailed as possible as most modellers just do one colour over and I think the separation is a major detail worth attempting.

Tamiya Ocean grey with Tamiya gloss lacquer ready for masking up. This will be Halfords grey texture topped off with Tamiya Gunship grey

1 v12 Jag injector refurbishing kit including 2m of fuel hose.
1 Pack of junior hack saw blades
1 Pair of side cutters
1 Pack of no 10 x 1" s/s self tappers
1 gall of paraffin
12" clamps x4, (for use in re-furbishing the injectors and other marine modelling project's).

As an aside, are people aware that B&Q only give us the 10% on gardening related items now - so not much use to me!

A double glazed unit in my bedroom window has blown its seal, identified by condensation inside.
A visit to you tube quickly revealed how to remove the beads and a phone call to Leeds Glass sorted out a replacement for under £26 made to measure to collect on Thursday. 10 minutes to swap , job done.

Perfect Headband With 2 LED Light Jeweler Magnifier Magnifying Glass LoupeHeadband With 2 LED Light Magnifier Magnifying Glass Loupe
At less than £10 off ebay these are excellent, I am on my 3rd. set  The first set my son refused to give back the second was a gift and I am not lending this set to anyone!

To be perfect they need some padding in the headband and this can easily be stuck in place with cut up mouse mat or the like.  I have been using same for over a year and it reminds you of how well you used to see!
Regards
 Roy
