If it's the St George Distillery one you mean, they are, or rather were and will be, an excellent visit. A lot better value than the Adnams one which is our other local offering.

Yes it's them, founded 2006. No need for a visit. Amazon Prime Saturday :-))  Although I would do the tour if I was holidaying locally

I hope its good because delivered price is only a couple or three quid less than Lagavulin 16

Taste with malt is very subjective as you know so I really can't say, also because they have several different dates on the tour and I honestly can't remember after the first few :D .It's also useful because of (a) the cakes in the teashop and (b) because it's only a stones throw from Snetterton racetrack.
My favourite at present is the Skiren from Scapa for before dinner and the Glamsa from the same distillery for afters! Luckily Waitrose always seem to have them on offer as well.

There is only two sorts of whisky ,good and better . If you can find one a 17 yr Glenfarclas  is the way to go or the 15yr as another choice ( ask DM )

Watch for the bubbles!
SWMBO used to work for one of the big brewers who also owned a couple of distilleries. Allegedly, the way to select a decent from a poor one is to (a) shake the bottle (b) watch the bubbles that set round the meniscus (c) the longer they hang around the better because there is a greater concentration of the essential oils and essences that give the buzz.

Just about to cloth and resin a hull and realized I'd used up all my cloth. So two packs of lightweight ordered and on its way.

Caveat Emptor!
I ran out of my normal malt. The bloke in the local wine shop, who is doing an excellent job with deliveries to us, suggested I try this. The first taste gave the sort of feeling that I was one of the victims fromthat Heironymous Bosch painting of Hell. I've learnt the rules since then and actually like it but............You Have Been Warned!

Yup, several times, but the first taste reminded me of all those grappas, rakis etc. that I remember from trips round the Med 50 years ago.

PS Beware also of the price because it comes in 50cl bottles, not 70cl.

Yes yes yes this sounds more my bag  :-))
Nose: fruity, mandarin, tart tatin, apple pie, honey. Light oakiness, toasted bread, fresh butter toffee.
  • Taste: Spicy, notes of sandalwood, dried ginger, roasted oak and herbs. Elegant with caramel, candied citrus, honey, dark chocolate.
  • Ideal for evenings reuniting with friends, by the fireplace or the campfire, in the lounge or in the garden.
  • 46.1% abv
  • Presented in a unique box telling the story of Swedish Oak and Swedish Single Malt Whisky.

Nah! Got to be.....
  • Nose: smoky with peat, juniper and vanilla, caramel, citrus, pears and raisins. Taste: Oaky, tobacco leaves and herbs. Saltiness with minerals, anise and green fruits.
  • Peat is from a bog an hour south of our distillery. It is combined with juniper twigs in our smoker which is housed at the entrance to our kiln; a repurposed 20 foot shipping container.
  • Delicate enough to be an aperitif but with sufficient depth for after dinner.
  • 46.1% abv
  • Presented in a unique box telling the story of our original Swedish smoke. An ideal gift for the fan of smoky whisky.

I've recently bought from Cornwall Model Boats via their web shop
and Leeds Model shop via their eBay listings

I must commend them both for the speed of delivery in these times.

Leeds Model Shop used Royal Mail
Cornwall used DPD
Both excellent
