Could not resist this when I saw it in Hobby Craft being sold for £80, the plan is to build the YSD Wrecking crane, well that’s the plan.

£1 a pair in UK

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-pair-Amass-Sheathed-XT60-Male-Female-Connectors-Plugs-for-RC-Lipo-Battery/172824344523

These really are excellent and a genuine product.
The new ones actually mark them M & F which will make it yet more confusing for customers of Component shop who have identified them opposite to every other seller in the world  %%
Gender is determined by the metal parts not the plastic parts.

These have a nice deep hole for the tinned wire. I fill the holes with solder first then re heat to insert the pre tinned wire.
No heat shrink required anymore.

Due to my drastic reduction of alcohol intake the wife has diverted budget funds to better quality wines from Laithwaites    O0  She now wants to throw away all the cut crystal wine glasses that she's had for many years and change to plain crystal tulip glasses for a better red wine tasting experience  {-)

So these are they.  Currently enjoying Primitivo Puglia  Cheers

Yes I support her view. If you're going go a few steps up from Aldi the wine deserves the right glass  :-)  I'm sure you know the shape is all important for the nose  :}

Red wine can bring on gout and contains lots more calories than whisky.... :((

My apprentice is also in charge Phil  {-)

I only share a bottle Colin  :-)  and with my self imposed restrictions I doubt 2 glasses a week will cause gout. The antioxidants must outweigh the risk  :police:

I'm now having a Belgian brown ale before a few wee drams of various flavours before the day is over  :}

One of these -

Rick Log Cabin 3.0 x 5.95m

Actually I ordered it a while back, but I have just paid for it and it arrives sometime next week.  New concrete base waiting, electrician lined up to fit it out.  Only fly in the ointment is that I have jury duty last week in May and first in June - I bet those two weeks will be perfect for putting this together!   {:-{
Hope to be back at modelling boats sometime in June.  I might be coming back for some advice on how to fit this out - I have never had the fun and opportunity of starting from scratch before.

Hi taranis the red wine grape Primitivo grown in Puglia, with the advent of DNA testing has proved to be the same grape as Zinfandel doyen of the Californian wine makers.  Mind you it is the actual wine maker and blender who determines how good the wine is, of course depending on the weather and rainfall not forgetting the terroir..... Oh shut up going on about it!

Strangely there is a perceived difference tasting a wine from a cast glass as against a blown glass.  Sounds crazy but I used to be invited to Wine Trade tastings at the top level over a 6 year period and it was noticeable and commented on by the experts, I met quite a few of them.

If you have a red wine that tastes a bit off sometimes caused by the sulphur preservative try dropping a clean penny into the glass for a swill round and remove it.  This helps get rid of the bad bits.

If you want to see a good film about wine try Bottle Shock.  It is all about an Englishman who screwed up the French wine trade in 1976.  Had one of my favourite actors in the lead roll, Alan Rickman.

Roy

The favoured wine glasses were made by Reidel, I have a few from presentations.  I can see you used to get glasses from petrol station coupon collecting, I am trying to get rid of mine!
I have a bottle of Chateau-Bages Averous from Pauliac 1995, just waiting for decanting when I have my son visit again.  Total waste on the rest of the family.

I have been to the Pauliac region and was an overnight guest at a Chateau.  The local wine producers brought their wines along for a critique, not by me but by my friend.  We had one of those outdoor meals on a 25 foot long table that lasted for 5+ hours. I got chatting with an American lady who was a wine blogger as my French is very lacking.
 We left to go to an Argentine Tango dance festival held not far away, the French love A.Tango, got lost on the way and picked up 2 Spanish ladies who guided us, I speak enough Spanish to converse.  We enjoyed the dancing and when we got back the meal was still in progress!

We then had to demonstrate Tango to the visitors, the host led us all in doors cleared some furniture and found some Tango music on the radio where upon we did an impromptu demonstration, which led on to rumba and Cha Cha and the Viennese waltz, bed in the small hours, made quite a day of it.

Roy

Not this week but I received this little set of mouldings which I hope I can put together...

http://www.amera.co.uk/product_images/w102_1.jpg

I ordered a few fittings for it roughly 1:60 -1:70 and a Viper mini ESC from Cornwall Model boats and the order turned up less than 24h later.  Not bad and alesson for averone else claiming the highlands and isles is more cost and longer to ship!!!!  I made a mistake and am still waiting for a 3" custom propshaft from someone on Ebay after 2 weeks ....still waiting.  Nonsense.

Steerable kort turned up today from MMB but a bit bigger than expected.  Hmm some re-thinking requred on such a small model.

I'd attach pics but still not found a suitable image hosting site I am happy with since demise of photobucket.

Rich

These are easy to put together.  The instructions for rc are vague  ie 3v motor etc. But they can be done. Im building all 4 of their kits at present.

Ps for a steerable kortz on another model i used a top from a sports drink bottle
