Corrugated steel/Aluminininium would probably outlast the woodwork.

I do my back gates with Decking oil - at least two coats a year, with a sand down every three or four years and then coat, it keeps them in good condition, though they are starting to warp slightly and the bottoms always seem to be worse effected due to the splash back off the concrete, I would say the tongue and groove panels are 20mm thick so there is some resistance to the warping, a god job really as the gates are south facing and the outside is exposed to the full sun.

Garden sheds are usually only half as thick if that and warp quite quickly, like wavey lap fencing.

I went out for a drive to keep the car going as it hasn't been used for a while. I absent-mindedly drove it towards Kidlington, and once there somehow managed to fall into Howes. Ten minutes later I fell out again, but carrying a second-hand 46" Crash Tender in reasonable condition. I'll be replacing the motor with something a little more efficient, other than that it looks good to go. Working water pumps and a sound effects system built in, though I have yet to try them.

Certainly is! I just pop out for an innocent drive and when I get home there's 4ft of model boat in the back of the car!

Hi Andy, You cannot swing the proverbial in there, how about a Mezzanine floor. It might solve your problem, for a while. Look forward to the review, as they say" there is no such thing as a bad whisky". Enjoy. bill

Hi Andy, Suntory should be OK as it owns a few Scottish brands so something might rub off, bill

My conclusion
On the right is mediocre at best, on the left is better but middle for diddle is a clear winner.

I love good whiskey but have never tried Japanese. My buying habits tend to steer me to the week's special offer in Waitrose. They usually have a decent single malt reduced from £35-40 to around £24. It always tastes a little better knowing you've saved at least ten quid on the bottle!

For my mill. Got rid of all the not required bits. Lamp is fixed with Velcro as I need to be able to insert the locking bar into the spindle when changing tools.

When I was in the Merchant Navy in the 70's I was often in Japan Suntory whisky was always found to be rubbish drank to get you half cut before starting on the good Scottish stuff as it was three /four times the price,
I don't like blends always buying good single malts, £40 plus but now often just buy Aldi's single malt's am finding them very good and best part is there only £16.95 might not be every ones taste but try one you might be surprised.

I notice that the price changes randomly for a week to £25 then back up to £35 - 40 for a while then back down. Its very active.

Very recently for my ***th birthday I received amongst other things a bottle of Abrachan blended malt ..(Lidl  £16.00) Really surprised, there are a whole lot of interesting and pleasant things going on in a snifter of this. They quote  The Lidl Abrachan blended malt Scotch whisky has hints of smoked sea salt, beach bonfires and caramelised sugar, and is in stores now.    I usually take my whisky neat but this seems best 50/50.

I have bought a bottle of ten-year-old Highland Park (special offer in Waitrose) this week, but haven't finished last week's yet.

More importantly, I have a Billing's Boulogne Etaples kit winging its way towards me from Scotland - hard to find these at the moment, but a well-known Billing's builder from this forum saw my plea on Facebook and located one for me, which I immediately snapped up, despite the price being somewhat higher than my local model shop (Howes) is listing them for, as they don't actually have any at the moment.

Hopefully, tomorrow I will be sampling the whisky will exploring the contents of the kit box.
