For what it's worth, how was it compared to the alcoholic version. Asking for a friend  {-)

I've just (as in the last few minutes) bought a Triang/Scalex Derwent cabin cruiser as I am sure this is the same as the one I had as a child in the 60s, though mine was the clockwork version. Even today, for me a model boat has to be a cabin cruiser with brown cabin sides and white cabin roof. This purchase will either make this weird obsession even worse or will cure it for good!

That makes 3 toyotas in this household and there are at least another 2 to 3 Yaris's within 1000 yards

SWMBO has decided to convert a spare room into a hobby space for herself, after all I have my shed so she wants her hobby area (I did suggest I could build her a shed beside mine but for some reason NO) so a 170 mile round trip to Ikea to buy storage units, work tops etc, then a day building them all.

The big question though is that if a man's hobby/escape area is his man-cave, then what is a woman's called?

No one seems to know.  We have a TV advert for "The Drain man" some of whom are women and they are as confused as any!

Basically, Toyota were the first Japanese car company to enter the British Empire market in Far East. I remember the woeful Austin Cambridge and Morris Oxford taxis in Malaya and Singapore with back axles filled with saw dust to silence the dreaded whining. Also a tourist trip in Ceylon in a clapped out Moggy Minor. Spine showing damage now40 years later! I can’t remember much about taxis in Oz in early seventies though but will always remember the comfort and quietness of the Toyota taxis that we road in. I’ve had a Yaris in Oz for three years and it’s been superb and I will buy another (possibly a hybrid) if we return to Oz in November.

I believe the female equivalent for a man cave is either a kitchen or a craft room depending on the main experiences being pursued. The main toys being either an oven or a sewing machine whilst many other mechanised devices can be found in many well equiped caves.

I think you'll find it's called a House where a man is not permitted to carry out any kind of hobby,  apart from a small area she decides a man can have till she finds a use for it till then it's a man cave  %)
