cen grey thunder upgrades
« on: March 05, 2018, 01:28:35 am »

new club member has the stock 550 motor version of this. it runs like a dog so he is looking to upgrade the drive line. been looking online but not much info. any ideas?
mine was upgrade to a brushless equivalent of a 775 plus esc
new flexi drive with offset rudder and prop (this is where i get stuck)
i know the performance will not brilliant due to the round stepping on the hull, but he wants to try.

ps its bring run as stock at the moment but with 1 x 7.2v 3300mah battery. it should be using 2 x 7.2v batteries in series.

today it was sooooo bad i bought it home with me.
the list of faults were
dog tooth broken, no grub screw assembly, that had sheared off and everything was spinning.
seized bushes , THESE were stick to the shafy and spinning in the motor bracket
prop severely dinged
so any ideas of where and what to get greatly appreciated

Could be a clue to the leisurely running right there.  Half volts will reduce performance considerably.
