Has anyone got any good tips on getting the correct angle and curve on the front of type 42 superstructure, I'm having difficulty in getting it to right and decent.  I'm building the Exeter its been 8 years in the making but with work its hard to find the time, but as Im recovering from a stroke its given me the opportunity to get back on it.

I would suggest trying printers lithoplate (can get as scrap from a printer)or thin aluminium alloy sheet.  It can be progressively bent until you get the curve you are looking for.

This detail is getting a little mind boggling David  O0 .....Bravo....

With the mix of plastics + brass in the Mast, what type of universal primer will you use and will you be using airbrush, or rattlecan application?

watching on in anticipation............

I use the Tamiya surface primer made for plastic and metals , I always airbrush everything with a good quality
airbrush , been using  enamel from colourcoats for the main colour but otherwise I use Vallejo acyrlic
for everything else

I think that I read, recently, that pubs were becoming a dying institution. Now I know why. Your mast is a piece of art, then again, so is the entire superstructure. Did you solder the brass together while it was one the mast? I am hard pressed to explain another way.

Hi Akira yes i drilled 1mm holes in the mast , slotted in the 1mm brass rod and positioned it all so all i had to do was add a small amount of solder paste and just
give it a touch with the dremal butane torch , started at the top and worked down the mast . it was easier than i thought it was going to be

just finished the structure beneath the funnel

Yes it is, they say as the tin is classed as dangerous goods.  Quite hopeful as I either have the pussers grey (borrowed from Lusty) or I can get it in aerosol or liquid from local stockist, but aeroslol is not exactly a fine painting tool  :} :}
