I enjoyed the show and meeting many friends. Club stands were excellent.

Particularly enjoyed seeing the WW1 and older warships on the Wicksteed stand and talking to Nick. His Invincible is really coming on well.

Maybe next year's two day format will tempt back some of the missing traders but I still managed to buy the stuff I was after.

One portion of steak & kidney pie still available after Martin's depradations yesterday.  :-)

Thank Martin!
Great to see photos from these shows when we're not able to be there.
A great mix of models and interesting builds!

Hello Martin nice set of photos.  I saw you fleetingly and thought your shirt rather subdued, almost depressing so left you to contemplate your inner thoughts!
I also had the kate and sidney pie, very nice.

My 2 sons and I went Saturday, had a chat with some of the guys, very enthusiastic and wanted to chat.

I took some photos but since photobuckets demise have not worked out how to upload, tried and failed many times.

Good show though.

I went yesterday for the 1st time in years and found it most enjoyable, good club stands and helpful traders.
My own personal favourite was the Waverley the wife loved the coca cola Santa lorries i was very impressed by the liners/cruise ships.

Another attempt at adding photos

We had an interesting conversation about early modelling, I am 50 so before my time, but my boys and myself were interested to see what it was like in early day of radio installations......conclusion ?

Expensive, trying to work out what it would be in today wages .... few months ?

Many thanks and congrats to the winners. All the stands were nicely laid out and some were quite exceptional.

Well what a brilliant three days :-))

First thanks to the organisers for sorting out the show again, there were some real quality model boats on show, and to buy- I know I’ve bought a ferry (that went around the hall very quick!)
Congrats to King Lear, LBES and Bournville for 1,2 and 3 respectively. Some real effort had gone into the stands.
Loved playing with Klunk planting googley eyes and chattererimg teeth on Steam Boat Phil’s Stand!
Had a sail this year with John and Carl and the other ferry guys on two days- I think we managed to recreate Harwich effectively.
Great to meet Colin Bishop and Martyn Chorlton collecting photos and information for the show report- had a real good chat with both and enjoyed discussing my Invincible with Colin- glad you like her Colin :-))
Today Geoff Dixon and I had our twice yearly chat to compare notes regarding our Invincible’s. Love Geoff’s torpedo net booms.
It was a shame Deans Marine was here this year but the big news for traders was that Prop Shop is back under Simon Higgins management and name. I think I have bought the smallest props I have ever seen and then told that they do 8mm diameter versions! My 12mm ones were tiny but 8mm !!!
Hope next year (even though it’s only two days) is just as good if not better- hopefully with my future job being hopefully confirmed this week will mean that I can get to other shows too.

Yes, heartily agree with Sir Nick's comments.

Particularly 'good spirit' at the show this year I thought too!

Highlights of the show for me:

Always, the Lifeboat on water display,
Steve & Kim's wonderfully entertaining 'pool side' commentary,
Dave's magnificent HMS Ark Royal, ( details to follow .... when I find that piece of paper! )  >>:-(
The Ferries,
The Fairmile boat collection,
The Stake pie,
Anything with Chilcott on the name tag,
Some blokes Celestine, ( ..... not bad i suppose! )  ok2
SteamBoatPhils 'new' steam tug,
HMS Monmnouth,
Fred the  lobster,
Tiger Rye, ( Kightcote club ),
Sue's cake,
The Stake pie,
The highly polished Steam launches,
The large scale Clinker built boat,
The Stake pie,  :-))
Denise's new RAF 'Crash' tender,
Nessie and friends, King Lear club,
The fleet of 'baby Severns, for Kids ' have a go' section,
Jack Snary, Royal Spithead Review fleet, still impressive after 20 years of seeing it!,
Howes Model selling more second hand boats that they do all year!
Dave Metcalf,  Paul Freshney, Barrie Stevens, Colin, the 'Bishop' of Mayhem,
.... and everyone else that that gave me a hearty handshake.... including a very bewildered modeller that I mistook for someone else!  :embarrassed:

Well done Chris, Avril & all the Meridienne crew, excellent job, same again next year please!
(... even if it is two days. )   {:-{

You didn't see Paul Freshney Martin - he was in New York at the time! Did you mean new Editor Martyn Chorlton?
