OK I get it now.  I'm a Naval Architect and Oil and Gas but you may have heard the news past few years, especially up in Scoltandshire -things ain't so good.  So I'm happy enough in a Mech Eng position now.

...funny enough we had an ITT at work for a marine flow test channel -akin to what you guys do with a wind tunnel.  Pained me to turn it down but the client didn't specify enough in the ITT and the timescale was ridiculously short.  Also -the public tender system is just absolutely ridiculous, it would take 2 man-days just to populate the admin basics on a website -which doesn't even work well.  There is no flexibility or leeway in the process -we can't present an effective proposal when all aspects of the contract are locked-in, we can't even change X named subcontractor for CNC machining if Y subcontractor comes in cheaper afterwards.

Am convinced the Vogons run the system now.  It's all different from when I worked in R&D almost 20 years ago anyway!!

Rich

Guess it must be Wind Tunnel operator.

However, in my time in the RN, I was a Wireless Telegraphist (WT/Radio Operator) Receiving morse code and typing, instead of writing, the letters and figures really is an art in itself.

Regards,

Ray.

Just landed a new job at the New York Bagel Co as a PPM engineer. Very exciting time as expanding and huge investment in people and equipment. Happy bunny as 8 months out of work is no joke.

This is me - No points for guessing what I do.  12 cars on an 11+ transporter loaded today.......very tricky but satisfying  %%

We don't do 12 cars very often as the probability of damage is very high - hence the photos - I'm good a Jenga too!

It is easy to drive bye those transporters and not realise how difficult it can be to load up without damaging one vehicle, not only that, making sure they all fit before loading. I remember watching a tv prog showing off the new fangled transporters as above.........tough job......👍

Cheers for that Mark.......👍

Have you ever played at Thursford, or know Mr Wolfe who used to play there regularly? It’s a fantastic thing  to play. Love the sound. :-))

Never played there, but I'd like to! I do know Robert Wolfe, shared a stage with him many years ago when he was a 'new' face on the organ scene.
