Searching for Graupner 1113.30
« on: March 30, 2018, 04:02:45 pm »

Hi all, just broke a gear on my Graupner Scimitar Speed.  The gearbox is a Multispeed 7022.  The gearset part number is 1113.30 and has a 3:1 ratio.  Anybody know where I can buy a set please?

I do not think these have been picked up by any of the manufacturers that are handling what used to be the Graupner line of products... i know that their schottel drivers were picked up.  if they are no longer in production, then something like TheLongBuild's recommendation to try ebay is your only hope at this time.

Thanks gents.  The bit i quoted is actually incorrect. The gearbox had the wrong lanel, so the part number is actually 1139.20, and the ratio is 2:1.  I have sourced one on ebay and checking postage options.  Thank you all.

Ah, That changes things, to be honest you have little chance of finding that on its own as I searched for ages as I  needed one for my Garupner Shark set up, However what I did find was the gearbox and so I just bought that and used the gearings I needed from that, just £6.00

here is the link..

Could always ask him just to send the gears, that might reduce the cost

No unfortunately.  Turned out the gearbox is much smaller than mine.  My bad for rushing and not looking properly for the item number.  I cant find the right gears or complete box anywhere, so have decided to go brushless on a direct drive.  Coimcidentally i have just put up a post under the brushless section asking for advice on setup based on my very basic understanding of the numbers.  Will have to start from scratch now, and may as well replace the shaft as well.

So, i've ordered a set of gears from Technobots.  The drive gear has a 4mm bore, the motor shaft is 3.2mm,  hoping i can sleeve the motor shaft in thin walled brass tube i have also ordered.  If the diameters are slightly different to the original graupner gears i should (hope) be able to elongate the motor holes in the gearbox slightly.  Fingers crossed and thank you Klunk for the idea.

Hi Klunk.   I actually got the gears last Friday.  The tooth size matched the originals so i only used the smaller motor gear.  The gear has a 4mm bore and my motor shaft is 3.2mm, so i also bought some 4mm outer diameter thin walled brass tube, which i carefully drilled out to 3.2mm with a drill bit, and also put a hole in the side for the grub screw to go through to bite directly on the motor shaft.  The brass insert on the new gear was too long so i cut it about 4mm shorter, drilled and tapped another hole for a 3mm thread closer to the gear for the grub screw.  Assembled all and bench tested ok.  There is a slight gap as the new gear from technobots is a shade smaller in diameter than the graupner one, but if it becomes a problem i can elongate the holes in the gearbox plate to move the motor down towards the shaft.  On water testing will have to wait a little longer.  The gear ratio is slightly as there is one tooth less on the motor gear than on the graupner unit, 15 as opposed to 16.  Not sure what effect this will have in practice (slower acceleration, touch more speed, or too much load?).  Will update after a sea trial.
