For anyone who lives near Swindon. There used to the National Archive of aerial photography next to the Railway Museum. I am not sure if it is still there. I am not sure about access to the public, we had to write and make an appointment ahead of time, and they dug out the photos we needed ready for when we arrived.

That sounds intresting - never had much intrest in history when I was young ... but now I am getting old I find local history always grabs my attention!
I would be intrested if the 'scanning process' was not too much trouble - however is it not subject to copyright?

I don't think the original printers would have copyright after 200+ years.  :embarrassed:

That's excellent - thanks Brian - it appears to show lots of the Lancashire coast prior to reclamation from the sea ... I will need to magnify to show detail but its great fun.
