Marmite
« on: April 24, 2018, 05:32:39 pm »

It always amazes me that after finishing the jar of marmite in a month I can scrape the almost empty jar for at least another week for my toast. As an international kinda guy I can say that the same is true for vegemite as well . :-))

I love marmite and I even bought a toaster for my truck so that when I’m away I can have marmite toast in the morning  :embarrassed:   That’s my confession over  {-)

So many choices :-

Toast = White or Brown or Wholemeal Bread.
Butter or Margarine.
Thick or thin Marmy.

Tried 'em all - prefer good ol' Plain White Bread with Real Butter (lots) and thin marmy. (Childhood memories relived).

The Fridge (and the missus and the Doc) says Brown Wholemeal and Margarine (reduced salt) and thinner marmy (to reduce salt).

Wot's your fave ?

You're touching on Andy's Law of Tubes, here.

Toothpaste? There's always enough left if you really squeeze. Same with tomato puree....a rolling pin is handy.  ;)

My favourite is toasted cheddar and marmite sandwiches on white bread.

Apply a small bank of butter to one end of your slice of bread, dab a thin (or thick) ribbon of marmite on top of the butter bank and then spread the lot across the bread. Add slices of cheddar put the top slice of bread on and pop under a pre heated grill.

Mar(mite)vellous  :}

I tried vegemite but it was horrid. Sorry brother and sisters from Australia  {:-{
