« on: April 30, 2018, 03:44:10 pm »

Hi guys, need to paint a 1/96 HMS Illustrious hull, does anyone know of a supplier of a suitable gray paint, was thinking about halfords gray primer, but not sure if it is the right shade.

Far too dark mate, your looking for RAL No BS 381 676 Light weatherworks grey, try some paint stores, some will mix aerosol cans for you.
I get mine from Scotts paint in Airdrie, they'll mix anything for you, matt to your specs and pop it in a spray can for you, costs about a tenner a pop :-))
Hope this helps.

I agree the Halford's grey primer is too dark, but have a look at a spray can they have called Racking Grey, I can't remember the RAL No, it is in satin though, it may be a bit too light but worth a look.
