Bath Spa
« on: September 08, 2008, 07:47:38 pm »

Was wondering if any of you kind souls out there are in the Bath Spa area, Reason is our eldest is off to university next week and has missed out on residence and they are trying to offer her a sublet council house with other students, she does not wish this and we were thinking if anyone up that way new of any families who took AA students in who don't smoke or drink....sounds like she is a nun, but really wants to be a teacher, Or if you know the local paper to search out such accommodation...just a thought hope someone out there knows something as we are in Torbay and unfamiliar with the area.

PM me if you know of some good leads.

Good evening .
I was born there, and currently live on the outskirts of.
Unfortunately im off on holiday later this week, and a mate who is a "landlord" is away until the end of the month. So im not going to bre of much use to you.
I do know that the Students Union has  contacts galore with the rental landlords. have you tried them ?

Apologies for not being of more use

Well, I'm in the process of quibbling with housing, they'd promised her residence, took deposit in June and then returned it saying they were full up, looks like a drive up next week to find a suitable place.... >>:-(

That's the best way, really. We drove our daughter all over the place when locating University places. You can then see if looks good.

The best way to find friends and integrate is to go for Uni accommodation. It does make a 'man of you' or in this case a 'Woman'. It is the socialising that's important.

She is now a 'B.A' and a qualified teacher, and we are proud of her. (and she doesn't smoke!!)
