I'll have some spare time in Bergen in the next month or so. Anybody know of a good model (boat?) shop?

We visited Bergen back in 2006 off a cruise. I don't know of any model shops but the maritime museum close to the town centre is superb with some great models among the exhibits.

Be warned that it is reputed to rain 360 days a year in Bergen and it isn't drizzle either!

It was lovely when we were there!

If you are going up the Floibanen funicular railway (the views are lovely) go early as once the queues start they can get very long very quickly.

Sorry but we didn't see any model shops.

Hi, I looked at the reviews for the Maritime museum and one clown thought there were too many model boats, I can recommend him to a Maritime museum that he might like not all that far away!

Hi I had not thought of going there but having built my version of Noggsund and having read Mike Bent's book on Norwegian ferries I may put it on my list. I agree the museum looks good.Roy

Don't miss the Floibanen if the weather is OK, we were there way back in 1997 and it was superb.
