Hi,

I found that all the moulds were sold to ModelsbyDesign.

So I emailed them and the reply was that Mountfleet Models had bought them

I have emailed them and will post a reply when it arrives.

Oooh yes, those were lovely hulls, I seriously wanted one way back when, but couldn't afford it.  :((

And the Broughton hulls were of a proper clinker hulled wherry too, not a much more common model of the carvel hulled 'Albion' which still sails the Broads, but IIRC it was the ONLY carvel wherry.

Hi,
Well the reply from Mountfleet was a bit weird.

No mention of the hulls but a price list and description of the models they sell.

Back to the drawing board.

Try Mastman on 07 956 940 043, also Facebook. I picked up a flyer of his some time ago.
Incidentally, I spoke to Ivor Broughton a good twenty years ago; as I recall it he had disposed of his trawler moulds, but not the wherry, so this may be it turning up again.

Hi
I'm new to this site
Does anyone have the moulds, made a copy of them or started making the hulls?
I have a model of a wherry based on the 'Gipsy', but it's inaccurate as it's carvel built not clinker
I'm looking to build a more authentic model
Regards

See my post #3 in this thread. Perhaps your 'Gypsy' is actually a model of the carvel hulled 'Albion'?

Agreed. I've seen 'Albion' at the Trust's base. Whoever built the model of 'Gipsy' intended it to be the pleasure wherry but used mouldings suitable for 'Albion'. I have drawings for it.
I've searched the internet and those advertising in the Model Boat mag, and all I can come up with is further drawings of a carvel wherry. I've not been able to find moulds or a kit.
My model has BMBC on it which I've interpreted as B..... Model Boat Club. An informant told me by email that some years ago, someone in Bungay made model wherry hulls, but had no further info. Also, no one in the Bungay MBC knew anything of them.
I keep drawing a blank, and couldn't make out from the forum whether or not the moulds are available
