Electronic speed controllers
« on: June 05, 2018, 04:19:51 pm »

i am having great difficulty in obtaining two FR30 Electronize speed controllers to replace the ones "that went down with my tug to the bottom of the lake".  Are there any alternatives that would be suitable for my Lady Wooes model that I retrieved and dried out.

Have you tried putting the wet ones in a bag of rice
Dry not fried :}
In the airing cupboard for a few days, a week would
be fine.
They may ressurect
Worth a try.
If not, then Action from Component Shop, or Mtronics will be able to help.

WHY!!………. they are still available from stock...……

I have used electronise for years, but last year my friend Dave Milbourn fixed me up with a single direction esc for my voith schnieders in the ferry...……..and what a beautiful esc it is...……..I would not know now which to chose should I be in the market for new esc's.....….quite probably ACTION controllers.

I managed to get two controllers from Model Dockyard, they had three in stock. Very friendly service.
I had an order in with Electronize Design but could not make contact with them either by eMail or telephone, so I have cancelled them.

Make sure it is just for a few days..one of our members had a sinking, did just that. Then forgot all about it for a couple of months. The mice got in, ate the rice and all the electrical wiring to boot!

WoW I hadn't thought of that. I have bought two new ones anyway, but if my tug sinks again I will try your method.

I am happy to report that with the two new speed controllers fitted into my tug it all work well. I can turn the tug around in its own length.
