It'll be the first set of stamps I've ever bought, but can't miss them.

there's a small art gallery in Southport next to a pub on the main street that sells numbered prints, one in pencil and one in colour of the main characters of the guys...…..

keep meaning to buy both...…...only 25 quid each...………..but they are brilliant likenesses to the actors, in two brilliant poses...…….

Does it count that the late Arnold Ridley (accidentally) stamped on my foot when I was touring with the stage version of Dad's Army in the late 70's early 80's... O0 .....so I think I got the first stamp  {-) {-)

I had a couple of days work as an extra on a Whitbread TV Commercial featuring James Beck / Private Walker around September 1972.It was shot in the Millhouses pub in Sheffield - the advert was for "Whitbread - the Pint that Thinks it's a Quart".

Sadly he died suddenly in 1973 and the advert I believe, was only shown briefly in the Lancashire TV area.
The advert was directed by Joe Mcgrath who was responsible for the the spoof bond movie "Casino Royale" with David Niven.
One of these days I will write up all the interesting stuff about this episode but not now . . .
