Me? Well the retailers must love me this year!

Power supply unit for laser cutter - £66 Blown up

Digital Camera - £700 to replace, dropped and cracked case.

Laptop computer - £500 to replace but hoping my spare parts will fix it! spilled coffee on it.

Then to cap it all,

10 inch tablet - £400 to replace, left in airport security yesterday afternoon.

Then on getting home last night, opened suitcase only for a 1 litre bottle of gin to fall out and smash on the tiled floor <:(

Well, I didn’t cause it but I have declared an engine (RB199) as absolutely faffed yesterday with 23 damaged blades- approx £1,000,000!!! to replace. Probably cause by FOD or for those not in know foreign object damage being sucked down the intake by the mighty RB199 (so possible self destructive)!

Which airport, if in security it may be at the security podium or in lost property, if in the lounge - probably gone to someone else, depends on who is honest.

I have just broken the rotor, on the motor, of my wood planer. Trying to cut 12 inch boards, too deeply created too much pressure. Looking in the end of the motor housing, through the vents, was like Blackpool illuminations.

Messed up the digital camera. After I used it last time I left it in its bag, but forgot to take the batteries out. The batteries leaked and all of the circuit board furred up.

Ah but we do Ned! That’s what makes it so bloody annoying! Problem is the sheer amount of rock on the sides of the runway that we can’t get rid off! <*<

New motor unit (complete unit only available from manufacturer) 93 quid. It is only 173 quid for a new machine. I am trying to see if a local EE can fix it for me. Here's hoping.

I managed to break the steering cable on a friends (full size) boat, its out of the water and I forced the steering and the cable broke where it went round a pulley, the only good thing was that it was found before it went back in the water

as per title  ------- my self esteem, shot down and burned to the ground, due to the job - customer services is a killer.

I reported it onboard the plane (when I realised it was missing. The groundcrew radioed through and I was told it had been located at security where I had forgotten it in one of the trays. It had been taken to the Swissport office.

Got in touch with them yesterday afternoon only for them to say they haven't got it but for me to ring the lost property. I did this and its automated, I left name and phone number but they only ring back if they have your property!

So yesterday I used the Google locator and sent a 'kill' command to it. This wipes all data from the tablet leaving it as useless. But it will only take effect once its in reach of a open wifi signal.

While trying to avoid an arrogant Mercedes driver on a roundabout, who seemed to think that he could continue around the island despite the fact that he was in a clearly marked left turn lane  >>:-(, I made a swift down change to accelerate away from him and the gear lever fell over..........

With a box full of neutrals I coasted to the verge and called the RAC, who hustled over to me in about an hour and fixed it.

Sadly the Merc continued on his arrogant way, totally uncaring.  >:-o

Went out boating today and had my (new) OS 21XM outboard motor turn itself into bearing soup. It's taken the rod, piston, liner and head with it, repair bill will probably be up around £200...

Andyn......sorry to read this.....if is a sore point you naturally do not need to comment :o

To try & understand the root cause of failure, I checked the fuel specification & read 18% oil content...however there was not a listing on the type of oil required

So to better understand & possibly help other members with the same/similar engine if you could clarify the actual oil specification/requirement and not just a %] >>:-(..............

[For a cost of ~~ 400 Pounds.....high performance, high revving outboard engine/drive assembly ...I thought the manufacturers would have been a little more helpful] .....Derek

Back in the 1950's I used Castor oil and Ether in my diesel engines.
Bought in 1 gallon jars from our local chemist. Certainly made them run.  :embarrassed:

I'm using 16% nitro, 20% Klotz Super Techniplate fuel. The cause of this was a combination of the fact that this engine has not run in at least 5 years and we found some rust in there, and the fact the bearings were probably starting to go anyway. I probably should have replaced the bearings before running it anyway.
Most off the shelf glow fuels are around the 15-20% oil ratio, but most aren't Klotz
No real worries, all part of the fun. I've had a few offers for new piston / liner sets so this engine will probably live to see another day. If I do end up having to buy new parts though I will just go for a new Novarossi KEEP 9, only problem is that it runs an actual pipe rather than the built on OS job.

Another engine to consider is the Thunder tiger Marine Engines, many moons ago I used TT engines for my offroad RC's, VERY reliable & performance wise was up there with the best. Worth a look anyhow & the prices are good :)

The Thunder Tiger motor is normal rotation through two bevel gears to provide normal rotation at the prop. Most outboard motors including the OS and Novarossi are reverse rotation - thus no gearing in the OS leg.

I've decided for now to stick the OS back together, have got a new piston and sleeve from someone over at International Waters so now need head, rod and bearing. I may still change out to the Nova at some stage in the future, but this will mean having to switch out the non muffled OS exhaust box to a pipe and header.

You'll love this.
The Asus tablet I left in Leeds Bradford airport? Well it finally came back to me on saturday, I've had it back 4 days. I dropped it on the bedroom floor last night and cracked the screen! >>:-(
Wish I hadn't bothered claiming it back and paying for the pleasure of it being returned now. Anyway about 60 quid for a new screen delivered from the far east, then pay again to have it fitted - I've just watched a service shop replace one on Youtube - no thanks!  Or the easy route and just by another.

With this Zenpad you have to replace the lot Ned, the screen and underneath display along with the aluminium outer bezel are all one unit - factory sealed, what you do is replace the entire internal gubbins into the new body then reattach the aluminium backplate.

Andyn try Just engines as I think other OS engines may use the same parts.  Can the piston and head not be cleaned up? :-))
