The rats have been chewing on a cable on my orbital sander, next to the handle. I split the case and cut off the chewed bit, stripped the wires, moved it all up a few inches, reassembled, turned it on and ... horrible noise. One of the carbon bushes had slipped and is now broken. I will have to try to fix it.  <:( Having recently had the planer fixed for motor problems, I am not in the mood for another motor issue right now. {:-{

Today I had to stop cutting the drawer joints on my latest project as the router bit (drawer lock router bit) is burned and blunted beyond use. {:-{

At least the glue still works, or so I thought. I took out the aerosol glue to attach some sandpaper to a piece of wood, and that has gone off too.  %)

OK.....needed some 80 grit pads for the Black & Decca orbital Mouse sander....this was purchased from Bunnings about 10 years ago

Bunnings don't have B&D replacement/consumable twist lok pads for the B&D Mouse
Bunnings do have Universal Replacement Pads in a box........10 pre-cut sheets x 4 Grade grit....10 in a box for $12.50 per box

So I purchased 2 boxes for $25.00................

Great ....got home & after a few minutes of sanding.....the B&D Mouse orbits to a halt with that familiar smell of  burnt out due to fusion    >>:-(

Bunnings have their home brand OZITO orbital Mouse type sander with a 3 year replacement Warranty and 20 sheets of paper in 4 Grade grit for $29.00

I now have 40 sheets of self loking spiral hooped ..[just push on & lift off] sheets of paper & a new OZITO Mouse  {-)

Fell over sideways doing some diy and landed on an edge - broke 2 bottom ribs on the left side around near the kidney.

Ouch.

Hurts to breathe, can't lift anything, afraid to sneeze or cough. Nothing can be done to fix it - just got to put up with the agony until it sorts itself out.

Thanks guys - luckily, not being able to do anything is just like everyone else in this crazy hot weather.

Hopefully I'll be able to do things again when the weather cools down a bit. And be a little bit more careful.
