I need to cut the scuppers along the length of my gf hull for Breeze.  About two foot long, 1/4" wide and with just about every possible opening for a right cock up.  I assume that I cut with the dremel disk and file smooth afterwards.  The tutorial hereon suggests a diamond wheel...I have lots of those brown wheels...will they do?  The hull at this point is only about 1/16th thick.

Those 20 diameter diamond dust wheels are cheap as chips [$8.00 for 5 wheels from e-Bay] ...the diamond wheel will make a clean cut & make dust of the parent material......the brown fiber wheels may make a tear cut & form a melted burnt paste & grab


The only way to determine is to try the fiber wheels

yes I intend to try the brown disks first...probably end up with diamond at the end of the day.

mark out where each scupper is, eye up to ensure it looks correct, remeasure then  drill 2 holes 1 at each end of scupper inside the line, cut with diamond disk then file to correct aperture size, time consuming, but take it slow and careful and you will get there

And am I wise to cut the scuppers before adding the margin planks?  Ive weighed up the pros and cons but have settle on cutting scuppers, then adding the beams, then tha margin and deck planks.  Is that the right order?

Wear a dust mask if you are cutting or filing as the dust is harmful and is an irritant.

You want the bottom edge of the scuppers flush with the deck planking, so unless you can measure and cut very accurately I suggest it is better to leave finishing the scuppers until you have laid the deck. That way you know exactly where to end your filing.
