Nice! I dream of one of those. Maybe one day when the kids move out.....

A nice comfy 21 degrees in my indoor workshop right now.
Looking out the window I can't help thinking "God help (model) mariners on a night like this"

I went for a run up to our local lake yesterday, and it was 70% frozen. I would think it is completely frozen over this morning. Whenever it does this i think it would be so cool to have an RC Icebreaker out doing it's stuff. But i have never got around to building one yet! Maybe this year.....

We are not sure what to expect in Oz.
Severe floods in Queensland, Drought in N.S.W. and last evening we had gales, thunder and lightning and torrential rain for an hour in Melbourne but it did not put out the bushfires. >>:-(
Temperatures this week from 47 c. to 15 c.  %%
I am working Australia at the Moment . Have to agree on the Weather I seen 40 to 15. Heavy Heavy rain with Lighting etc

-5°C  in Peterborough this morning, threats of snow.

Really dodgy driving to work... so drove very quickly before I had an accident!

Not sure what it was this morning - I haven't been out there. Yesterday it was 5 degrees, and that's in a fully insulated, double glazed construction, with a 120 watt heater running 24/7.
Soon warms up with a 2 Kw fan heater.

We have tried that with tugs.
The ice is one of the best paint removers around.
Anchors also succumbed to the ice.

It's no good bashing the ice. Full size icebreakers ride up on thick ice and use the weight of the ship to crack it and push it under and away. I suspect you might have scaling down problems with that approach on a model.

Don't break the ice, enjoy it. Get yourself an airboat and go whizzing around at high speed.  That's what I did today at our club morning.  My home-brewed airboat was slaloming around at all sorts of crazy angles, steering was a bit hit and miss, but oh boy, was it fun! Everything was going great until........
Ooooops......     :(( :((

That's the problem with a concrete wall round the lake - it leaps out at you and spoils your fun!  Oh well, nothing a bit of filler won't fix.  :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

my workshop is either the kitchen table (21 degrees C) or the conservatory which has the benches and tools, (5 degrees C) no heating, but it acts as an insulation barrier for the house, absorbing all the heat thrown out from the walls, the house, well since we had the cavity walls done the whole house is heated from a single radiator in the downstairs toilet, maybe 2 foot square, set to 2 , and that keeps it a comfy 21 degrees downstairs. upstairs there is the heated towel rail, plus the hot water pipes to the boiler under the floor. which keeps that a comfortable 19-20 degrees. the only problem is in the summer when the conservatory can top out over 40 degrees.

Zero degrees in West Kent as well. Much milder than yesterday. Only a very small amount of snow last night.

It’s been around 35 to 40 Celsius in my shed for the last couple of months, good for losing weight 🤪

As the sun is in cloud this morning we are only just at 30C. The sun is supposed to appear after lunch so goodness knows where we will end up which will be far too hot for me.

27 degrees indoors at work, with the aircon trying flat out to cool it (we have a huge metal almost flat roof) warmer outside, yesterday when I arrived home at 6.30pm it was still 35 in my workshop, 29 indoors
