It’s disgusting here at RAF Brize Norton Herc area. My car temperature sensor said 38.5 driving around to the squadron car park. The reflected heat and brightness from the concrete pan is horrible- I’m wearing desert overalls (we call them denims) simply because they are thinner than the standard olive green denims. We can barely touch the skin of the aircraft at the moment!

My wife's car said 34/35 and that's just the other side of Witney from Brize. Plenty of your planes flying over us the last few days, if they could just come down a few more feet I think we'll get a nice cool breeze from the props as they pass overhead!

One of my Hercules jumps without equipment was on Downholme moor in temperatures like we currently have and a normal 30 seconds to the ground took nearer a minute due to thermals  %%
I hoped it would last all day  {-)

There is a cricket/grasshopper on our kitchen windowsill, south facing, that looks like it was baked to death in the sun  <:(

We’ve now got heavy rain and thunderstorms at Brize!
It was nice to stand out in the rain.

More weather problems
Victoria copped a storm yesterday afternoon.   2100 requests for assistance and lots of damage to houses.  4 killed by falling trees.
Emergency map still shows lots of work needed.  We can break the 'stay at home' order to get tools and materials for repairs.

A balmy +7C tonight, a big improvement on -10C last week (it was -17C outside!).  At least I remembered to bring all my water based paint and glue inside so no harm done.

Stay safe, stay warm.

Go on, jump in with your shorts on ...I  dare ya!

I grew up in the US deep south and learned to drive in the same place in the 1970s - I am not going to make the same mistake typical of visiting Yankees, I'm smarter than that.  :}

And now I live in the central midwest where we are going to have,
Quote
Saturday Sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 99. South southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Google says that's, 33.8 C and 37.2 C

About an hour ago got email from Julie over there in Surrey County and she commented, after converting C to F,
Quote
Hotter than Barbados!I see that (town where I live in MO) is expecting to be 1 degree warmer than (town where she lives) tomorrow at 96.8F. It was around 93.2F/34C here & set to be even hotter tomorrow. Most of the UK is experiencing drought now, and many areas, apart from Surrey so far, are on water restrictions. Looking forward to the heavy rain they’ve predicted for Tuesday/Wednesday next week.

But I seem to Not Be smart enough to figure out how for that to not be all in one big quote block. What did I do wrong?
Have gone back multiple times and manually put the end quote marker at end of what Martin said but the BB code software seems to remove it when I click save.
