I had the honour and pleasure of taking a beautiful old friend out for the day today on a trip to the lakes, in stunning wall to wall sunshine, where we took a visit to the bluebird museum in Coniston, stopping to look at the remains of a Merlin engine recovered from the wreck of a H P Halifax that crashed into a hillside during WW2.
Whilst in the museum we heard the lady behind the desk say to some customers that had just come out of the Bluebird exhibition that the now fully restored Bluebird K7 had been loaded onto a transport lorry and was returning to Coniston and to finally take her place in the museum within the NEXT FEW DAYS...…….a momentous occasion for all fans of Donald Campbell and Bluebird...…...get your cameras ready guys and go camping.
