What magnificent vessels these great clippers were. Aptly called the greyhounds of the sea, many had an association with Australia through the wool trade. I Googled Peleus and found some photos of her at anchor on the State Library of South Australia's website. I would love to have found some shots of her under full sail. Is she your next project Bob?

No - not my next project.     Following the almost complete destruction of the barque Gulf Stream on its way to Belgium, I will not be making many more!     The insurance payout was minimal and I even have to pay income tax on it (when I finally get it).     I will not be sending any more by courier anywhere, not even in the UK.   It will be collection only from now on, and not many will go along with that.   I may do more drawings and writing instead.

Peter,
Have a look for 'The Sea in Ships' by Alan J Villiers. My copy is 1932 and it's worth a look at even just for the pics!
