Has anybody else got one of the Joysway Discovery rtr yachts?

What I'd like to know is...what does this little plastic bridge do? I can see it takes the line out of the r/c compartment to the main sail boom, but why does it need to be there?

It's to give a better angle for the mainsheet to the boom.
When the boom is sheeted in without it the main sheet would be vertical to the boom
trying to pull it down and changing the sail curvature.
