Whitby Class Type 12 - 1-96 Scale
(1/1)
Jack the Gunner:
Hello Modellers, I am attempting to see what can be built in 1/96 for HMS Torquay, Whitby Class, Type 12.
I am thinking of using the Scalewarships Type 12 Hull and their fittings for a Rothesay Class and Mix and match to suit Torquays Fit.
Anyone know who may do a Plan as I've tried all the usual outlets with no joy, Any Help Appreciated.
Has anyone built a Rothesay Type 12 with a Step by Step Photo session during the build ???.
Yours Aye
Jack Russell
Ex Chief Gunner.

Jecobin do a plan of HMS Plymouth in a variety of scales - link -http://jecobinplans.com/estore/index.php/frigate-hms-plymouth-c-21_26_186

I have the HMS Plymouth plans in 1/72nd. They are, I have to say, very good. Should be a a good basis for Torquay, as long as you are happy to 'Reverse-Engineer' the Rothesay sub-class Mods.

I built HMS Yarmouth about 9 years back using the scale warships hill and a few of their etch fittings. I don't have her now any more but somewhere I think I have quite a few photos of the build on a memory card. I can't recall everything about my build but there are a few things I might recall if you want to ask and I will post the photos up when, and assuming I do, I can find them.

I did a build log on a couple of sites. This is one that I did.

Might help you a bit, possibly.
