Hi Michael,

There are two club in Yeovil.  Yeovil and District Model Boat Club (mainly sail and scale) which sails at Sutton Bingham reservoir and the Yeovil Model Warships Association (mainly scale and far from exclusively warships) which sails at just off the A37 between Yeovil and Ilchester.  I'm in both clubs so let me know if you'd like more info.

Shepton Mallet has a club, Tone Valley near Taunton and Sedgemoor in Burnham on Sea. All active clubs.

I think the Yeovil Model Warship Association is still about. I have not been for a number of weeks but I havn't heard that it has closed either.

Pop down on Thursday afternoon 1:00 PMish, or Sunday Morning around 10:00. This rain we have had might have filled our pond up  :}

Terry,

Both the Warship Club and the Model Boat Club have websites which state the days on which they meet at their sailing locations. Have you tried attending at these times? I reckon this would be your best bet. Most likely they all prefer sailing to the admin work!

Has it slipped downhill?
A few years back there was
a darn fine show by the local
clubs.

I actually lived in Yeovil from 88-90. The only thing i can remember about that time is that you used to be able to get a lovely pint of Wadworth 6X :-)

I saw a member in town on Saturday and he said nothing about the Yeovil Model Warship Association folding. Indeed, the website is out of date and could do with updating, but a visit on Sunday or Saturday will get you results. What ever happens, have fun at Weymouth.

I can confirm that both clubs are still going; I am a member of both and treasurer of one.  Yeovil and District Model Boat Club has a new(ish) website at https://yeovilmodelboatclub.wordpress.com and generally meets on Weds and Sat (though not every week).  As Ballastankian said, Yeovil Model Warships meets on Sunday am and Thursday pm.

Sorry you didn't get a reply to emails and fair enough if you've decided to go to the Weymouth Club.  If you'd like any more info about either Yeovil club let me know.
