help needed with wiring
« on: August 26, 2018, 11:25:57 am »

hi, I need some help ( my first time at this ) with wiring.

I have a receiver which does not need its own battery.   I need to wire up. 2x speed controls, one for the motor and one for the pump. I also have 2x servos which need wiring in. OK I know that each unit needs to wire into the receiver. I have wired each speed control in, one to the pump and one to the motor and they work ok. but the think is. Is it ok to wire the speed controllers battery connections together and use one connection for the battery. and can I wire the speed controllers on/off switches together or better still do away with them. this is for a submarine and all these components are inside the water proof unit. thanks, michael

Hi Terry, when you say your Rx. Does not need its own battery is that because you are using the Bec
From your speed controls? If so you need to take the red wire out of one of the esc,s.
You can then leave that esc switched on as the Rx.will then be powered by the other esc, Bec
You can replace the switch on the esc with a magnetic/ reed switch, component shop, then to
Switch on and off you place a magnet over the reed switch.
You can join the battery feed wires together red to red black to black or you can use a Y lead
You don,t say what type of connections you are using, tamiya, deans, etc

Hope this helps

thanks, the receiver needs no battery connection, but both speed controllers do. so its ok to wire their battery connections together. I will look at getting a mag reed switch. thanks for input.

Sorry mate, I should have said the red wire that goes to your Rx from your esc.
Only from 1 esc, leave the other esc as it is that powers your Rx.

If you don,t need a separate battery for your Rx it is getting its power from your
Esc Bec's capability
