Hello,
I am new to this site, and as I cannot find anything about Oxford in the search function, so is the Oxford Model Boat Club.
As everywhere, times are difficult for us as our usual schedule of event has been postponed, but we are still operating where we can. Our water is a boating pond within Hinksey Park, Oxford and for larger sailing boats, the lake by the side. Like most clubs we go through phases of what interests our members, and at the moment it is scale and semi scale building and sailing. We are also the home of the Fiesta racing yacht and usually have racing throughout the year. A member has recently developed a cheap, but with high performance, electric racer that always brings out the childish behaviour of the racers.
We have out share of inventive builders, one being the inventor of the Jam-jar submarine who has also built a small hydrofoil that works very well. At least 3 members have 3d printers that produce parts, or in my case a complete 1880's American torpedo boat.
If the weather is dry, we are at the pond on Sunday mornings and early on Thursday afternoons. Visitors and potential members are always welcome. More information can be seen at out web site:
