MY NEW ADDITION.
« on: September 16, 2018, 09:42:22 pm »

I was delighted to be offered this boat from a fellow KMBC member.

He is a wonderful modeller and knows his stuff.

GRP hull and two twin stainless prop shafts with brass screws, twin brass rudders.

Working lights and rotating radar, fully fitted out cabin with radar lights.

Stainless steel rail.

She is around 3ft long and is probably a 1/12 scale-ish.

And what did I pay for all this...£130! YES...£130! I stared at him and asked him three times!

Have just ordered a 6 channel tranny and receiver for £30 and that is me all done.

Still cannot believe it.

If the batteries came with it it's the bargain of the year, a nice clean tidy boat, no sign of rust
And decay and weathering. Yet!!! {-)

Batteries did come with it so a real bonus-just making a charger lead as they are deans connectors.

Me, rust and weather and have things looking...well, knackered...how dare you sir...actually, you are correct  {-) . But, in this case, the boat shall be untouched.

Model slipway used to make the model.
Range Safety Craft.
A very seaworthy hull and a very nice model.
The flag on the stern is the now disbanded Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service ( RMAS ).
These boats were re-engined from the original Rolls Royce diesels to Volvo Penta giving a top speed of 20 Knots.

Hi Bob, I wasn't sure if it was a Model Slipway model, thanks for the info.

I have seen her on the water a couple of years ago and she sailed lovely.

I know they disbanded it in 2008 IIRC and was taken over by Serco Marine.

Si,
If you want to know any info about these boats I was the MoD Overseeing Officer for the contract and oversaw the re-engine package.
I was able to get the plans released and permission for them to be produced commercially.
I think I still have an unmade model in my loft.
One of mine was bought by Richard Howard and I think is still in the Beale Park museum.
