You can see the fittings list on the Sirmar sight I know T888 made a lot of his own but I don't have the patients, with a little adjustment and tidying the fittings look good. I have had the model for about seven years I think, where It has been in my attic and I started the build two years ago when I had finished my last projected, its been a long time as work gets in the way, but I only work on it when I feel like it.

On to doing the hand rails around super structure a very kind friend gave me some brass stanchions for which I could cut to hold the rail perfect fit for 1mm rod used, as you can see I can make two from one. it was becoming a concern for what to use so big thanks to Dennis Ramsden, :-)) again I will not fix yet as they will need tiding up on the ends and also will need to spray paint them.

I Am using good old Humbrol tins and air brushing it on, it has taken 4 tins reducing 50/50 using enamel thinners so far.
One more tin should do it, it may take a long time but the finish is good.

Made a decision to get the hull Finished as the weather is perfect for spraying and I did not want to get held up in traffic if I decided to go out some where.
Sprayed water line with Alclad black primer went on a treat, then decided to paint deck, this I dab on with a half inch brush 50/50 diluted which gives that nonslip surface but smooth Finnish, again it takes time and needs three coats but has a good effect. pictures show first coat and will have to cut in with small brush around detail parts.

Hi Stuart,

Re your initial comments in message 1, it's your hobby so do what you are comfy and happy with. It is only your business how you build your model, and by that it has come along really nicely. The railings and ladders look really good, and I like the look of the paint job.

We can but critique, we cannot dictate :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) Keep up the goodwork.

Thanks for the comments guys I am enjoying the build, lots still to do and enjoying it.
I have been thinking about making a box to carry it in, I will probably make it the same way I carry my 1/16th Severn were it sits at water line level in the box with sea affect and carry handles its a safe way to store and transport how do you display and carry your boats around six foot long also don't want to carry a coffin around with me.
I also would like to display it on a stand that sets it high as you always look down on to the boats they can look superb a bit higher letting the public see underneath.
T888 I will hopefully be at Netley.

Hello Stuart,
I can imagine that wasn't a five minute job %) , been working on the main mast for my T42 build and it's taking ages to finish. The build is looking really great. Jon

Making the carry and display box for the Clyde and made a box for the mast section to keep it safe. bit more detail to the mast section. excuse the hammer handle just there to keep it upright till I set the Clyde to water line level and it will have sea effect round the ship.
hoping to get some wiring done soon so I can test her in the water.

All most finished the box and she is set at water line and I feel better that she sits in some thing save. bit more detail to top section. I will also have some cut outs on the side so you can see underneath.

Cracking model of the Clyde.  I always loved the batch 1 rivers and Clyde was something extra special with a flightdeck shame she is coming to the end of her career with the RN unless something drastically changes.
