Display and sail model lifeboats
« on: September 29, 2018, 04:36:40 pm »

Hi, I am thinking of starting a group or club to raise money for the RNLI, by displaying and sailing if possible model lifeboats. Any body interested in ideas and help please contact me. Jerry

Nice idea :-))

If you have not done so yet, it might also be worth contacting the PR people at the RNLI who might be able to help you contact other people who have already done similar things, at the local level, on RNLI days in the past.  You could also look for RNLI local groups on Facebook and put out feelers on there. Once on Facebook, others can help you make friends across the network of RNLI groups around the country.

Just a couple of thoughts.

You would be most welcome to come and join us on the site, Jerry, and also come and join the sister site here....     https://www.facebook.com/groups/141639556320343/

also, the first big show of the season this year is the Blackpool model show in the north west, where plenty of lifeboats are on show in different clubs, but also the Lifeboat Enthusiast Society [LBES] will be mounting a stand with a variety of models both built/in progress on it, with help and advice for members wanting to build models...

no need to start your own club or society as it is all catered for. there is a whole big world of lifeboat modellers out there, good luck.
