thats not a strathclyde police boat.... those muppets wouldn't be allowed out in that, without parental supervision!!!

I think you will find its a MOD police boat from Faslane, named after one of the scottish Islands like Barra :-))

I have found out that this is an Island class patrol boat.
The mod police have them and the Royal Marines have two.
So I am going to build two boat, one as mod police and one as Royal Marines.
I have been thinking about build one of these for 10 years now.
Time to get some more done, more photos later.

This kit will make an excellent range of model versions. I note that this Graupner kit includes the jet drive units.

I'm sure Andy at Models by design produces the hull, The Graupner kit is readily available, but needs a few modifications to the hull and s\structure. 'Gingyer' on here, is building the US coastguard version.

I could'nt find the dimensions of the model on the Graupner web site. I looked on the MBD but the Island hull is'nt listed although this does not mean that Andy does'nt have a suitable plug. I am sure his stock is larger than his list on his website.

Hi all I am getting the hulls from Mountfleet models. Andy sold them to him.
The hull is 1320mm long, so a bit bigger than the Graupner one.
Come out at round 1:12 scale.
They also do a 1:16 scale hull.
The hull need a modification to the stern.

So here we are the hull meets the top.
Very happy with how it looks.
I have come back from Warwick with two hulls as I am making two boats.
One will be jet drive and one prop drive.
This is so I can see which one is going to be the best for our big boat cruise 2019.
I have got to do a bit of a mod to the hulls, but this is not going to be to hard.
I would like to say a big thank you to Simon from Mountfleet models for the great job on the hulls, Andy from Models By Design for the jet bucket . Also the bits and bobs he will be making me for the boat, Also I must say thank you again to Simon from Proteam design for making me the prop's and the parts for the jet drive's
Now the work start.

In the first picture you can see what I have used to make the superstructure.
Yes I have made from a 75mm profile picture this make it a bit of fun.
Next weekend I will be doing the hull mods.

Number one hull modify.
Its not nice cutting the first, you are thinking I hope I get this right.
All went well, old transom off.
New transom on.
So I will leave to cure for a day or two.
Next week I am hoping to get the running gear, motors and rudders fitted.
With a bit of luck the deck as well.

I have pulled the plasticard of the transom and trimmed the new fiberglass.
I have also cut the step out.
This Saturday I pick up the running gear up from Simon.

Got the props, motors and rudders fitted.
Tried putting some lipo and the esc in place.
Boat is well balance.
So tomorrow I am going to try and get all the inside of the hull done.
I am also going to try and get the deck on.
