Rainday build Tricopter
« on: December 28, 2018, 01:02:28 am »

Since it was too rainy and windy for any productive boat work today and I couldn't fly at all I decided to build a tri-copter I had laying about to add to my fleet. Even got to test fly it in breaks in the deluge. Went well which is a rare thing. The other 2 are older but better and more stable. The Missus says no more drones until I have 3 boats finished lol

What do you mean 1:1 is not a model?

When I looked at the picture I thought it was one drone. Then I read the words ,doh! But it would be an awesome beast, not easy to controll?

at least it gives you implied permission to work on 3 boats.

Sadly the tricopter is no more. The software developers for the flight controllers I use don't really cover them because they are so out of date and rare that it is nearly impossible to get them to steady down. I lost 3 sets of props in the few flights it made and that gets expensive really fast. The 2 quads fly well and do what I built them for and I may start adding FPV gear to them just for fun.
The implied 3 boats has crept up to 5 so that is good news and from the sounds of it I have no limit now because I told her that was enough and she smiled and said it won't be. Love my wife  :-)
