How does the "Search" function work - or does it?
« on: October 29, 2018, 10:33:33 am »

The space top tight of the page is marked "search" as is the button in the bar under "Mayhem at Wicksteed" top left but both the results are very strange and very old.

For example if I enter "Blackpool" as the search topic I get 50 results. The newest is October 2009 - 9 years ago! - and most are 2006 & 2007. This is despite there being a major show in Blackpool every year with lots of posts.

Is there a better way to search the forum?

PS I was looking for photos from the recent Blackpool show.

Try these parameters along with your search text

1. - Select "Match any words"
2. - Select " Most recent topics first"
3. - Tick "Search in topic subject only"

That should work

On the home page use the right hand search box. Just enter this: Blackpool 2018
You will find just 6 hits to choose from :-))

Something I was taught recently. For specific websites, and it works for any website searches, when you use Google Chrome browser.
Type in your search term followed by 'site:' and the website address. With no space between the colon and the site address.

e.g. if you are looking for monitors on the Mayhem website.
